Chilling ideas of the future with AI on a fun ride

I'm always happy to listen to a Dennis E. Taylor novel because there always seems to be a relentless optimism despite the dire and seemingly overwhelming problems the characters find themselves plunged into. As I started listening to the novel a world where AI is heavily regulated makes clear the absolute dangers presented by AI in a way I hadn't considered and it definitely put a chill through me. Showing me a future that seems plausible with dangers I hadn't considered made it a page turner for me. What's going on? What's going to happen next? I thought I knew what was going to happen but I was wrong. It was great. Echoes of the Bobiverse, a couple of references and nods for us Bobiverse fans it was appreciated. Another look into the future, another look into what constitutes consciousness, humanity, morality. Dennis E. Taylor writes two kinds of science fiction at the same time. He writes the science fiction where you know our hero will overcome enemies, circumstances and insurmountable scientific based problems with a equal helping of hard science to make it believable. It's magnificent.

Another great story.

Dennis Taylor is by far my favorite author, this is another great example of why.

We are not Bob (But we are amazing)

This Is a fun fast paced sci-fi thriller with lots of humor and pop culture references peppered in, I couldn't stop listening to it and finished it in one day. Ray Porter does an amazing job as the narrator as always and Mr. Taylor really knows how to write a great satisfactory sci-fi novel

Mr. Taylor never disappoints.

What a fresh spin on AI "AGI"... I enjoyed this from the very first word. Trust me when I tell you, you will NOT be wasting a credit. Thanks Dennis! You have single handedly made my long drives to work bearable.. One thing i will say.. I would of liked to see more interaction with the AI ftom first person.

Dennis + Ray = Good SciFi

I've listened to the Bobiverse at least weekly since I found it. I just finished the Outland storyline to current. I'm convinced Dennis + Ray is always a solid choice in SciFi. I think Dennis did a nice job, it's not what I expected from him, but I was pleasantly surprised. And as always, references abound.

If there is such a thing as classic Dennis E Taylor, this is it.

Great sci-fi story, likable characters, and some good old fashioned eco terrorism. I really enjoyed the read from start to finish. Thank you

A fun read

Solid science fiction! Enough detail to make the future technology seem possible, but it doesn't go overboard. The main characters are likeable people, like most main characters in Dennis E. Taylor stories, and easy to care about and to root for. The story is set in the near future and it has more than one compelling mystery plus some humor, too! Lots of twists and turns in the plot as the characters gather more clues and get closer and closer to the truth. There is even a small nod to "Bob." It's a fun ride, though it is thought-provoking, and after you finish you may find yourself pondering the many ways that AI could kill us all. And Ray Porter is awesome as always.

If you like Bob, you'll like this too! If you didn't like Bob, then it's not your thing.

Interesting perspective on IA

This is an excellent detective story set in a future where artificial intelligence can actively participate in solving mysteries. If you enjoy the Bobiverse, you’ll definitely enjoy this book.

I was wrong

I was wrong about everything in this book. it was wonderful, normally I know everything before the end.
