Publisher's summary

It’s the end of the world… but that doesn’t mean things can’t get worse.

The Incursion Event has been announced, and sapient races from across the multiverse are invading the newly integrated planet Earth. These beings have decades, centuries or even millennia of experience living within The System and wield powers far beyond the mutated Beasts and mana-spawned Monsters Drew and his friends have faced in the past.

While the newly established settlement of Sanctuary flourishes, much of humanity is hanging on by a thread. The small communities that have managed to eke out an existence know nothing of the horrors that await them at the hands of the more gruesome Incursion races. Even hastily fortified cities stand little chance against their onslaught.

To survive in the face of this new threat, and save what is left of humanity, Drew and his family are forced to level up in The Baleful Lady’s own treacherous training dungeon. An experience that might be even more dangerous than the Incursions themselves.

Forced past his limits, Drew must learn to use his System-granted necromantic powers in frightening new ways… or accept that humanity’s extinction is inevitable.

Love it.

I really enjoy this story so far. I know some people will have problems with a certain section honestly I think it was fine, but could have been a bit less deamening to certain religions.

stupid logic

the logic behind releasing his minions is simply moronic theu could've had freedom without being released and he's depriving himself of a crucial tool to ddefend his family any man knows that a man protecting his family would do anything cross any line to ensure there safety morals be damned otherwise great book the logic behind the last part was frustrating though keep up the good work

A love letter to the genre

Continues to pull from popular series in the genre and pop culture but is beginning to have its own voice. The power creep is significant but I think it might have to be for the sake of the sorry. I will be back for the next one to see where it goes

This Second book was……

Ok a lot to unpack here! This second book was way more informative than the first one. The character development alone was amazing. Seeing how much resolve this mc has to keep to his morals and how much the dungeon challenge him to change but he stood with it was amazing to listen too. Now him getting back home and two shoting these invaders was funny! Can’t wait to for the next book!

A fun and engaging story

I really enjoyed this book. It is another action packed story full of adventure and fun Easter eggs. I love how Drew is developing his relationships, despite all the chaos around him, and supporting the growth of his friends and family. Additionally, even though he has a necromancy-based class, he stands firm in his morals which is refreshing and one of my favorite aspects of this book. Great narrator and no terrible cliffhanger. I thoroughly look forward to the next book of this series and hope Freya has more time with the next chew toy she finds.

But start with book 1. I started with book 2 and ...even with recap, it took. awhile for me to get into it.

Gone to the weeds

A warning to Jews, Christians, and Muslims. If you don't like your beliefs demeaned for a plot device this may not be for you. They make the God of Abraham into an arrogant spoiled brat who cares nothing for his followers, all to crush the faith of one character and to add some world building. It's a rather disappointing use of real world beliefs in the fictional universe.
