fantastic premise and story but 0 details

the author has decent ability and has a good outline but the book reads more like a series summary that's been cut to pieces and instead of triming the fat he cut out all but a few poorly selected cuts, more details and zeroing in on the protagonist without making him seem like a anime protagonist. overall not a bad story but definitely needs work.

The narrator did a fantastic job with what he was given

found a starship done smart

starts out a typical found starship book. the mc actualy acts like he has a brain.
I've been looking for more good authors to read regularly. if he keeps writing books at this level I will be reading them.

Fun story.

The books starts out like it is written for a 12-14 year old, then it changes to a more mature audience. That may have been by design as the charter goes from a simple minded person to the "Chairman" of a global enterprise. I almost stopped listening after a few minutes but decided to hang in there and see if it got better and it did. I like the fast pace of the book that left out all the boring filler that is in most books. Non of the - it was a beautiful day with the birds flying overhead, the water flowed like a dream on a cool day yet I wondered...you get the idea. The minimalist style can appear to be childish but it moved the story along at a pace I enjoyed. The author defiantly writes with a low fog index, easy to listen to. The performance is a little monotone, an excitable monotone, too eager with no emotional shifts, always go go. The story is fun and entertaining. I liked it enough to try the next book.
