About this listen

Fighting Monsters is a collection of Sean Joselyn's memorable experiences during his, still very active, law enforcement career. During these experiences, while assigned to patrol and SWAT, he has witnessed tragedy, seen lives taken, and taken someone's life himself. His stories illustrate the monsters he and his teams have fought. In his book, he will walk you through these experiences by putting yourself in his boots. You will learn about his successes and failures as he lived and learned from them. He will share the emotional toll that this career has taken on him and his family. The monsters, though, aren't always who you think they are. They come in different forms, different areas of his life, and even from within. You see, Sergeant Sean Joselyn has learned that it takes a monster to fight monsters. He has trained himself both physically and mentally to do this; to fight and win at all costs. He now trains his team to have the same mindset. He has created a calloused group of warriors who will walk into hell together, side by side - but at what cost?

Great Book

I am a newer operator our Sheriff departments SWAT team. This book is great, the entire book.
Wish there were more books written from the view of being on the team.

Familiar

Great familiar stories. Amazing how all of the stories are so similar in this business.

A look into a professional’s mind

What can I say this audio book delivered. Recommended for those not only interested in joining law enforcement, but also those who want to see what their best go through on a daily basis.

Will definitely be listening again!

Short but with good insight

The book doesn’t delve into the detail I thought it would given this kind of topic, it more us just small snippets of big situations in the authors career. I enjoyed his genuine reflection and gained appreciate for his work as well. The only large drawback was the narrator. In the most respectful way possible I have to say that he just is not cut out for this work. His inflections are off entirely often and he just sounds like he is trying to be ‘cool’ in how he portrays the authors words. A couple times it’s like he was recording in secret because he would speak very quietly for an entire chapter. Really took me out of the experience.

To the author; you said you wanted to keep writing and I support that. I will follow any books you publish.

Don’t buy this on audible

Who ever read this puts way to much effort into this. The only way I could listen to this was to set it to 2x speed. It was not worth the money!

Better as a sleep aid. This may be a great book but the reader absolutely ruined it.

The reader is absolutely horrible. Sounds like a robot with no enthusiasm at all. This is the worst reading I have ever heard. I couldn’t get past chapter 4.
