About this listen

Jamie McCoy is the ultimate guy: 30 years old, carefree and professionally successful as the writer of a nationally syndicated humor column called "Guy Stuff". Nine and a half months ago, he spent a week basking on the beach in Eluthera and indulging in a fling with a woman at the resort. Never did he expect to find the unplanned result of that fling - a healthy, wailing baby named Samantha - strapped into a car seat on his back porch, along with a suitcase full of diapers and infant apparel and a note informing Jamie that he's her father.

Maybe he is and maybe he isn't. But first things first. He's never fed a baby or changed a diaper in his life. He doesn't own a crib or a stroller. In a panic, he phones the nearest hospital, where neonatal nurse Allison Winslow takes his call and tells him about a class she teaches called the Daddy School.

Classes on how to be a dad are exactly what Jamie needs. But when he attends his first class and sees the tall, earnest, amazingly beautiful and even more amazingly competent Allison, he realizes that he might just need more from her than her lectures on how to hold a baby.

Jamie's efforts to be a father to this precious baby touch Allison. His sense of humor amuses her. His striking good looks turn her on. But how can she trust the sort of guy who'd sleep with a stranger on vacation, without giving a thought to the consequences? How can she give her heart to such a reckless man?

Just okay

I feel the author was attempting to create characters who were greatly in love yet in conflict about that love. However i didn't find the characters to be particularly believable. I didn't think the writing was quite strong enough to make me understand and sympathize with their plight. I did enjoy the father's interaction with his daughter and having baby at home myself I found the humor in it entertaining. the performance was okay but I did have difficulty telling when the performer was switching between characters.

Oh daddy

I got the biggest kick out of this story. It was so easy to imagine Jamie floundering around being a dad that I couldn't help but snicker while falling a little in love with him.

A cute little romance story.

Any additional comments?

This was a cute little romance with only a few steamy scenes. The characters were cute and there were very few misunderstandings between them. That can really ruin a romance for me. There were also only a few sappy scenes. The humor was great and reminded me of Christopher Moore's humor, which is a compliment from me.

I really enjoyed listening to Tom Dheere. He did a great job giving personality to the characters and he had pretty good comedic timing (at least it seemed that way at 3x speed).

A cute little romance story.

When a single guy finds a baby ...

Any additional comments?

Father Found is the first in "The Daddy School" series. Jamie McCoy is a 30 year single guy, who after having a fun week at a resort 9 1/2 months ago, finds an abandoned infant on his back deck. The note left with the baby states that Jamie is the father. Having never cared for a baby before, Jamie contacts the local hospital for help. Allison Winslow is a neonatal nurse who loves helping others. She also runs a class for fathers to be called "the Daddy School". Jamie shows up to her class to get the help he needs with his new daughter. Not only does Jamie learn to care for his baby but he also starts to care for Allison.

I liked this book very much. Ms. Arnold tackles the subject of fatherhood and what it takes to be a good father, even if you weren't even thinking of becoming a Dad.

Mr. Dheere gives each character their own voice, pacing and emotion. He draws you into the story and makes you want to listen to see what is happening next. I am glad that he is reading the 2nd and 3rd book of this series. I am interested to see where Ms. Arnold goes with the "Daddy School" idea.

I would recommend this book to my friends who enjoy a good romance with a little more too them. I would listen to this book again.

Sweet, funny story about Daddy and his baby

I listened to this book in a day and a half! It was easy to enjoy because the story is light and funny. Jamie finds a baby with a note saying the newborn baby, Samantha, is his from a quick relationship with a woman during an island vacation. He can't really remember her name or how she kisses. He is sure he used protection.
Whatever, he has become an instant father. Taking care of Sam has Jamie learning about formula, diapers, and all the other baby equipment. He buys a mobile; a helicopter with rotors that spin and a stroller more expensive than his car. He introduces the newborn to wrestling and attends a new daddy class with a beautiful nurse teaching the class. He is not sure his heart is in this baby stuff, but when complications arise, he fights for his girls.
This book was worth the time. I would recommend it to anyone that prefers books about relationships with good outcomes.

Tom Dheere is very good at this narration. The story is quick moving and has an interesting plot. You will probably enjoy it more if you have a quirky sense of humor.

A Humorous Romantic Comedy!

Would you listen to Father Found again? Why?

Yes. I found this book to be very funny and quite entertaining! I loved hearing the mans point if view about having a new baby around.

What other book might you compare Father Found to and why?

I don't like to compare books because if someone doesn't like the book I compared it to, then they wouldn't like this book & that just isn't a fair judgement.

What about Tom Dheere’s performance did you like?

I enjoyed his voices! Tom does a really good job narrating this story. He adds all the excitement & humor when & where it is needed!

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I laughed out loud a lot! I was totally rooting for Jamie & Allie to get together! I love how Samantha was described throughout the book too! This book was so good, I listened to it in 1 sitting today!

Any additional comments?

A very enjoyable story! The author & narrator kept me totally entertained throughout the book Even Allie's grandma was funny! I look forward to the next book in this series!

Fun, Endearing Sweet, Hilarious and Wonderful Book

Would you listen to Father Found again? Why?

*
Fun, endearing sweet, hilarious and wonderful book! This book is not hard to review at all. A free feeling bachelor is going through life having fun, occasional hookups and all of that.

That all changes one day when he goes out on his back porch and finds a baby in her car seat with a note attached saying the child's name is so Samantha. What's a guy to do?

In an absolute panic, he makes a frantic call to the hospital is and is put in contact with the nurse named Allison.

Allison is gorgeous, kind and caring, but she doesn't realize it. After hours, she is teaching a daddy class for young, expectant men to help them to adjust to the time with the upcoming birth of their children. However Jamie shows up with baby in hand!

First impressions and miscommunication follow and things turn hot and then cold with all the twists and turns that make a good book.

I recommend, recommend, recommend! Very Chic Lit!

The narrator Tom Dheere is fantastic. He is in his element as Jamie McCoy, the 30-year-old man, however he is a storyteller! He speaks in a confident manner, a vulnerable manner in a way that makes you feel that you are right there. His flawless execution of each of the characters from children to grandparent age is flawless,

Note: mature themes

Credit worthy/$: Yes, buy or redeem-you will not be disappointed.

*I was given given a copy of this book in exchange for my thoughts and opinions.* HOWEVER, I have added the entire series to my Wish List!
