Publisher's summary

While Nicole Clark was stunningly beautiful on the outside, she was dangerously evil on the inside. Forgive Me Father is a suspense thriller about Nicole who was on a mission to kill her ex-husband, Tom, who obtained full custody of their son. In addition, Nicole was in desperate need of money, so she concocted a scheme to extort money from priests. Both of these quests go terribly wrong, and Nicole found herself in trouble. She hired a shady attorney, Howard Mancini, who clashed with Detective Roger Drake.

Will she succeed in killing her ex-husband or in extorting money from priests? How will the priests react? Will Detective Roger Drake stop her? Can her shady attorney save her? Forgive Me Father is a pause-resister with unpredictable turns and twists that will keep the listener guessing.

She got Feminine Wiles and Knows How to Use Em

Where does Father Forgive Me rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This is a first effort. A diamond in the rough. That's not a negative necessarily. The situational elements are unique. There are some areas that very cleverly constructed. And some that might have been written differently. I listen to about twenty-five audio books a month, so I would rank it in the 50 percentile.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

The main character is evil and a psychopath! That's interesting! The law enforcement people don't act very realistically sometimes, In my limited experience observing LEOs, investigations, prosecutors and defense lawyers. I am an avid True Crime reader, 48 Hours, etc. watcher, and have paralegal experience.

I read R.P. Wolff writes legal documents and had input from a lawyer while writing the book. So, there are some accurate representations here. Don't get me wrong.

What about Harley Reese’s performance did you like?

I thought she did a decent job. More so than some of the negative reviews suggest. I picked up a few brief technical issues here and there. Overall, a good performance though!

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

How vicious Nicole the main... villainess was.

Any additional comments?

This was an ambitious first book. Make sure to listen in its entirety for how the book evolved!

Thanks for the opportunity to review it.

A good reading.

I really enjoyed this book . For this to be R.P. Wolff first novel he did a good job . Learning from Stephen King was a good ideal you learn from the best. The narrator was also good very entertaining to listen to. Once again very reading.

This was a very strange audio book. It wasn't until I heard the author thank his wife and teenage daughter for the female perspective, that I understood. Also it could use some major editing, quite a few times the same word was used 3 times within 2 sentences. The plot rambled a bit but overall not bad for a first book.

The narration is very well done. It was easy to listen to.

surprising twists

This book surprised me in several ways. First of all, I was impressed by the flow of the story. It was so easy to follow and understand what was happening. Even when the story was being told from a different character's perspective I had no confusion. Secondly, this was much more than simply the tale of a deceitful ex wife trying to kill her ex husband. There was so much more to the story and each new detail made the book that much better without being to over the top. The part about the priests surprised me and actually made me wonder if this type of thing really happens (most likely does). Having grown up in a Catholic family myself, any type of scandalous behavior like that intrigues me. For some reason the book seemed to have a bit of a slow start for me, but about halfway through i didn't want to stop listening. This was a well written, intelligent book that was well worth my time.

Meh

A somewhat interesting story but the main character is extremely unlikable. Which makes it hard to keep interest. The grammar mistakes are also very distracting.

I really didn't care for the narrator. Her narration felt artificial and forced.

This was an excellently twisted novel five stars

This book was fantastic!!! The protagonist in the book was one of the most manipulative and conniving characters that I have ever read before. This was the authors first novel and in my opinion he hit it out of the park. The only thing that I would have changed would be the narrator, she read way too fast and it was very hard to distinguish some of the characters from the actual body of the book. I received this review copy from the author publisher or narrator

Good story, awwwwful narration!!

Let me start by saying that I liked the story enough to finish it. That being said, it was painful to finish due to the terrible narration. The lady reading this, I hope, is a novice at narration and it was hard to get through. She was not good at doing different tones and/or cadence changes for different characters and there was no emotion in her voice. Also, she kept saying millimeter instead of milliliter and that drove me crazy!! As for the story itself, I thought it was pretty good. I enjoyed the plot, the characters and the pace of the story. I was gifted this book by the author for an honest review and truly liked the book. I would love to see it done over with a different narrator. I really think an experienced, proven narrator would bring this book to life.
