Fans of Jim Butcher should devour this series

Great cast of characters, complex levels of plots that overlay and span multiple books, great balance of action, intrigue, world building, etc, and the narrator is fantastic.

This series keeps getting better and better!

I have really enjoyed this series. The character development is outstanding, the stories are new, there are interesting twists and turns along the way, and the narrator is top notch. I really enjoyed the Dresden files by Jim Butcher and the nightside by Simon Green. I am now adding this collection to my top three urban fantasy series favorites. Can’t wait for next book to come out!

Alex makes hard choices

You can tell we're gearing up for the end of the series. Excellent narration as usual.

I enjoyed the subtle difference in Alex's voice

When everything falls apart and things get serious, Alex's voice changes. There is no room for passivity anymore. New Alex is the monster that they all feared, but somehow they still don't understand he is a devil of their own creating.
I loved it.

No more Mr. Nice Alex

…or the one where Alex finally powers up. And when he does, he doesn’t waste any time.
This book begins the final lphase in the series, and whether Alex ultimately wins, loses, or draws: he is going there in style after this one. Of course, there is a lot of pain and some self discovery along the way.
One of the three best books in the series so far.

As usual

This series keeps going and going-in the best possible way. Every book I get I think it won’t be as engaging as the last, but each time I’m wrong. Keep reading folks, jump in, the water is always good.

Worth the wait

I waited with baited breath for this book and it was worth it. I enjoyed seeing Alex grow into his own, it's pretty obvious that there has to be a book 11, because Alex deserves some happiness, besides the relationship between Luna and Very needs to be explored. I also want those two faced wishy washy people on the light counsel need to be dealt with. Well done Mr Jacka, I'm ready for book 11.

Excellent Installment

Great chapter in the Alex Versus universe. Quite a few ends were tied up and a new slant was born. looking forward to the next book!

Finally

To be honest I loved this series, but the last couple of books had me deciding it was time to give it up. It seemed as though the story was never going to move forward and Alex was pretty much helpless against all the factions lined up against him. Also the reasons for those factions turning against him sometimes stretched credibility to the point of being absurd. I saw a new book came out and was fully intending to pass, but read the reviews which were largely very positive and thought I'd give it another go. I'm glad I did. Finally Alex has taken a little control of his life and the story has taken a leap forward. Hopefully the rest of the series will move along at this pace.
