About this listen

Capturing the seedy and sordid side of life isn't anything new for photojournalist-turned-paparazzo Graham Wells. But when a shoot turns deadly - secretly causing the car crash that takes the lives of two beloved public figures - he knows the ensuing media spotlight could easily destroy him. Fortunately, no one else knows his shameful secret except for a mysterious CIA operative, and that clandestine agent swears he'll keep quiet...for a price.

Blackmailed into documenting the orchestrated downfalls of some of Hollywood's biggest stars, Graham finds his role in the operation disturbingly murky. But the picture soon begins to clear and comes into horrifying focus after he prevents the suicide of celebrated actress Lanie Byrne, revealing a sprawling web of lies that reaches from the glittering lights of Hollywood to the dark political intrigue of Europe and Washington, DC.

A page-turning thriller, Alan Russell's Exposure is a fast-paced and riveting read focusing on an international conspiracy and a truth-seeking antihero armed only with a camera.

Twists and turns

I really enjoy Alan Russell. Each of his books contain a little known fact that makes you stop reading to do a quick google search. I feel a little smarter after having read/listen to each book. The duels had my stomach rumbling but got my mind working. Who knew fencing was drastically different from fencing. Well I do now! Although Shame is still one of my all time favorite books this one can be in the top 100.

Exposure ride

Alan Russell does it again. He is such a great writer. And what a great having Christopher Lane narrate. Really good story with Hollywood drama, death, dueling, and a little here and there about different culture circles. Wonderful book and audio book. Highly recommend!

Not Russell's Best

I really, really love Alan Russell, but this book was a little slower and not quite as good as his other books. It was still good, just not great like most of his books.

Narration is the issue

I read Exposure soon after its 2002 introduction and decided to listen to the audiobook since it is included with Kindle Unlimited at no additional cost. I've listened to several audiobooks narrated by Christopher Lane in the past and consider him to be a really good narrator. Lane's narration of this book ruins it. It is a case of a narrator over performing rather than just reading. Specifically, Lane tries with a miserable lack of success to do various foreign accents. In doing so he takes an excellent 5 star story and totally ruins it. I did not complete this audiobook.
