About this listen

Ten years into the worst drought the United States has ever seen, fresh water has become the scarcest natural resource in the world. China, Russia, Europe, Mexico, Canada, Australia, and other countries are all experiencing the effects of this unnatural lack of drinkable water.

Brooke Fontanne lives in the arid desert climate of San Diego, where the effects of the drought have driven the area into poverty. Her engineering job at a solar energy company, however, helps provide enough income for her and her two children to survive.

But when news of the Colorado River running dry brings further water restrictions, Brooke realizes that it's time to get out. However, the lack of water isn't the only obstacle she'll have to overcome.

Bit scary as it is the what if.

I love anything with a what if story arc. And this works for me. I recommend it to all who love apocalyptic stories.

F15 on a US Aircraft Carrier while inport

I know it's fiction but try to be factual in details, especially using real life things.

1st Lieutenants are not Navy

F15 is an Airforce jet

Diesel is not Gasoline, they are both a type of fuel.

Crazy California

I guess these people have never heard of desalinization…. So let’s start with that. All the fresh water in the Colorado river has been run dry by the west coast…. Solution? Cut them off and let them die. This is never going to happen but then again lots of things we think could and never would happen often do. Still the story is good and the characters are likable. I would definitely listen to more of this story.
Great narration by Robin Rowan.

story drys up fast

Nothing truly groundbreaking in story telling has the narrative was just more compressed to a few chscthers instead of others novels of this world-type. It would've been better if we got more POV of other chactgers see a wide view of tge collapse of society would've help create more impact on rush of other chacthers actions, and the lack of detail on the response of military personnel who come from thouse states has all I see is a full insurrection aginst the Hov't betraying there familys'.
