About this listen

Book Six of the Demon Accords. For 17 years Declan O'Carroll has lived quietly in the upstate Vermont town of Castlebury, waiting impatiently for a chance to get out and meet the great wide world. When an odd new girl appears in town, Declan finds out that the world might be coming to meet him. But the big question remains...who is in more danger? Declan or the world?

A great spinoff!

What made the experience of listening to Executable the most enjoyable?

Same universe, but different characters. I like the overlap and the fresh perspective that this book gives of the world, but it still feels like the other novels.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Declan was the kind of character that I can relate to. He is a total techie.

What about James Patrick Cronin’s performance did you like?

Sometimes I had to remind myself that it is a dude who is narrating the Irish girls' accents.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I got the "Marathoner" badge on this book because every few minutes game me a question that I needed answered.

Any additional comments?

It was great the second time through as well!

interesting transition.

The author is probably moving to new protagonists having run out of interesting ways to challenge Christian and Tanya without opening the gates of hell directly. So how to continue the story without the main characters? Simple change main characters right? Well most authors will just end one protagonists arc or saga and call it good, then move on inside the same universe. Thankfully Mr. Conroe came up with a interesting method of shifting to or adding in new main characters. I don't know what they next book in the series holds as I have not yet read it..but I will. I have enjoyed this series immensely and hope the story continues for a good long while.

Each book is better than the last!

I couldn't put it down. The epic story continues and once again it doesn't disappoint.

Amazing good book

As this seri s progresses I enjoy it more and more. The world is so very detailed and parts are so familiar yet creative. Declan and Keiko are a great addition to the whole plot line

Awesome Books

this whole series is a really great listen. there is a few bad words in it but for most part it's a really clean book with not a lot of cuss words and very entertaining for going down the road listening to. I would recommend these books to anybody to listen to.

New main character - but a great addition to the series

I continue to enjoy traveling back to the world where Chris Gordon lives. And while this book centered around Declan O’Carrol who we met briefly in Fallen Stars, it was just as fun plus we got to see Chris and Tanya through the eyes of a third party. This is the sixth book in the urban fantasy Demon Accord series. I love that Declan’s character, despite his unique overwhelming magical powers, is still sweet, a bit naive, modest, and an awkward teenage boy which makes him a very likeable hero. Declan is a very powerful male witch which is an anomaly. Usually only females have power. Male witches may have a tiny amount of power. He has been in hiding with his aunt in a small town in Vermont after his aunt and mother fled Ireland. Caeco and her mother are also running and hiding. Caeco was engineered in a lab and is an enhanced human because of this. Upon their arrival in the small town they meet and are befriended by Declan and his aunt. This begins the Declan amd Caeco adventure. The book has the some of the same main characters from the first five books with some new characters added into the mix. The story includes what you’d expect from this genre - fighting, dangerous situations, paranormal creatures, evil masterminds, henchmen, loyal friends and family, tragic back stories, mystical coincidences, snark, and laughs. I thought I would not enjoy this book as much as the others in the series since Chris was not the MC but it did not change the enjoyment of the story at all. As usual, James Patrick Cronin is a fantastic narrator. His Irish accents were great. I will definitely keep reading the series to see what evil beings and plans are thwarted by Chris, Declan and the rest of the crew.

great book

Great story. Good pacing. Only issue was the use of a cockney accent for the young Irish sister.

Should have been book 5.5, not 6

I have been binge listening to this series and had a very hard time getting through this book. The first 5 have been amazing, then this one made me double check that I didn't mistakenly start listening to a different book series altogether. While Declan is an interesting character, I feel that this is very much a side story that should have been book 5.5 and not considered part of the main storyline.

overpowered powerhouse

Normally I get really irritated by godmoded characters, but every character in this series is so stunning and powerful and just so amusingly overdone that I get a kick out of them. Enjoyed seeing Declans background.
