Many governments are starting to talk about the introduction of Covid-19 passports. Some society members are very concerned about this, seeing the possibility of abuse of the data collected. Critics pointed to how YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter have de-platformed users who do not comply with their mindest. These mega tech companies have destroyed some businesses that they deem inappropriate. This has been very much pronounced in right-leaning news stations that have not agreed with the mainstream media.

Behold the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster (FSM), today’s fastest growing carbohydrate-based religion. According to church founder Bobby Henderson, the universe and all life within it were created by a mystical and divine being: the Flying Spaghetti Monster. What drives the FSM's devout followers, a.k.a. Pastafarians? Some say it’s the assuring touch from the FSM’s “noodly appendage”. Then there are those who love the worship service, which is conducted in pirate talk and attended by congregants in dashing buccaneer garb.

Our species, it appears, is hardwired to get things wrong in myriad different ways. Why did recipients of a loan offer accept a higher rate of interest when a pretty woman's face was printed on the flyer? Why did one poll on immigration find the most despised aliens were ones from a group that did not exist? What made four of the Air Force's best pilots fly their planes, in formation, straight into the ground?

Story
On this unabridged audiobook Stuart Wilde explains that the Force is a part of each and every thing in the physical plane. This includes our planet, the stars and galaxies, and the physical universe...as it stretches out into space, beyond our perception. By its very nature the Force is immortal and never-ending. Because it is the inner light or "livingness" within all things, we call it universal.

Story
Gravity affects every aspect of our physical being, but there’s a psychological force just as powerful - yet almost nobody has heard of it. It’s responsible for bringing groups of people together and pulling them apart, making certain goals attractive to some and not to others, and fueling cycles of anxiety and conflict. In Wanting, Luke Burgis draws on the work of French polymath René Girard to bring this hidden force to light and reveals how it shapes our lives and societies.

Story
Charles Eisenstein explores the history and potential future of civilization, tracing the converging crises of our age to the illusion of the separate self. He argues that our disconnection from one another and the natural world has mislaid the foundations of science, religion, money, technology, economics, medicine, and education as we know them. It has fired our near-pathological pursuit of technological Utopias even as we push ourselves and our planet to the brink of collapse.

Story
In this witty and perceptive debut, a former editor at Psychology Today shows us how magical thinking makes life worth living. Psychologists have documented a litany of cognitive biases and explained their positive functions. Now, Matthew Hutson shows us that even the most hardcore skeptic indulges in magical thinking all the time - and it's crucial to our survival. Drawing on evolution, cognitive science, and neuroscience, Hutson shows us that magical thinking has been so useful to us that it's hardwired into our brains.

Such an interesting short read!
I love listening to books that may not always be in my wheelhouse, and this was one of those. This book is covering all of the major things in life that we may question or think upon. This book really made me think about all the ways we view life and why we do the things we do.

Is great to ask questions ....
good intro to philosophical thinking, we had forgotten to guide our new generations to question their actions to see possible consequences, life meanings, and opportunities to grow with in their surroundings . In a very settle and entertain way this book can take Us and make Us see that is much more that what meets the eye, and " life" is not just a word

The narrator is top notch. Really good quality.
...from Dale Roberts, an Audiobook best-selling author on 9/11/20:
" The narrator is top notch. Really good quality. He has great pacing and his post production is on-point. And, his delivery matches up with the content.
Put on your headphones and listen really carefully. Do you hear any breaths? No? That means he’s a pro and whoever edits and masters the content knows what they’re doing.
Really, my only criticism is on the cover. Beyond that the Audiobook is great! Your listeners will enjoy the experience. "

Wisdom that might save you some trouble
This book tackles lots of the false ideas and mistakes we all fall into at some time or other. Desire and perseverance don't always produce the same outcome and lots of other ideas you rarely hear are a real wake-up call.
A great book to increase your critical thinking skills.
