Confusing backstory but good resolution
I'll start with the narrator: wonderful! This is one of the few narrators that can do men convincingly, without growling or lowering her voice it's just perfectly clear it's a man speaking. The mom and the daughter were both well-voiced. I'm impressed.
The backstory, about a couple that lured people to their deaths using their toddler as "bait", was hard to follow and didn't seem to relate to the main story at first. There was also a many-times-referenced situation with Katie and a boy that happened several years ago but was intentionally kept murky.
I loved the way the same story was told from 3 different POV - 1) Ryan, a guy whose sister was killed by the murderous couple, 2) Sara, mom to 9 year old Katie, who was present at the death of her friend/babysitter, and 3) the cops investigating the death of Anna. Between all the perspectives, the stories eventually come together and make a really good story.
I'd recommend this one!

Kept me on the edge guessing.
Good story, great characters, good dialogue. What I didn’t care for is the repeat again and again of “feelings” and whining. The ending with everyone being happy and friends is just too sappy and unbelievable. All and all, a good listen.

Amazing Book
Each time I listen to Mr. Mofinas books, I think he’s got to run out of great stories!! But he has not and I have read MANY of his books! Going now to find yet another! Mr. Mofina, I so appreciate your prolific library!!

Iit's not so obvious…

What a wonderful book complete with questions all the way through! As soon as there appears to be a true answer, it's totally swept away and other possibilities become evident!
I love a book that keeps me thinking all the way through. And the fact that even the detectives need to keep on their toes and examine all possibilities makes it that much more exciting. Excellent book, and presented excellently!

The Bad Seed
As I began listening to this book, I thought of the movie: The bad seed.
This was an entertaining story, for a book purchased on the daily deal, I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed it. I guessed the ending, as it was nearing, but that was okay. I still enjoyed the storytelling, and the narration.

I really enjoyed this book. Good story and the narrator was pleasant. I have read all of this Author's books and hope he has more in the works.

Very, very long.
This was very long and wordy. I felt it wasn’t necessary to have all of the extraneous words to go on and on and on in this book. Narration was tolerable. I cannot recommend this.
