Acerca de esta escucha

Columbia Business School professor Mark Broadie’s paradigm-shifting approach that uses statistics and golf analytics to transform the game.

Mark Broadie is at the forefront of a revolutionary new approach to the game of golf. What does it take to drop ten strokes from your golf score? What part of Tiger Woods’ game makes him a winner? Traditional golf stats can't answer these questions. Broadie, a professor at Columbia Business School, helped the PGA Tour develop its cutting-edge strokes gained putting stat. In this eye-opening new book, Broadie uses analytics from the financial world to uncover the secrets of the game of golf. He crunches mountains of data to show both professional and amateur golfers how to make better decisions on the course. This eagerly awaited resource is for any player who wants to understand the pros, improve golf skills, and make every shot count.

The information and application is the future of golf training. Probably going to just buy the physical book instead of having Casey Kasem read the rest of it to me. Was a struggle to listen to

Great information but the narration was a struggle

Good narration. Good writing. Because there is so much data, it does feel like a text book rather than a page-turner, but well worth it

A more comprehensive, objective and applicable approach to tracking statistics. Will definitely consider this moving forward.

Complicated but groundbreaking

This book offers a way for all golfers to get better and enjoy the game more. Thank you for writing this book.

The only frustrating part is that there seems to be no way to access the tabular information, which is frequently referenced in the text. Still incredibly valuable insight, despite that.

Super valuable

Not for the casual golf. Very detailed analysis of the best to look at what lowers your golf handicap.

Only for the serious golfer

Data, not hunches hits me between the eyes with its truth. After playing golf for 50 years, and accepting all the old stories about what is needed to shoot lower scores, its all been wrong. This book tells the truth about where lower scores actually come from.

Finally Moneyball for golf

One concept: putting isn't as important as we think and is a hard start to track. 3 chapters later and giving 30 examples of pga tour instances. I think this is for staticians and not golfers.

Reads like a textbook.

Over 90% of the time is spent discussing statistics to promote 'strokes gained', with hardly any advice on how to use it to improve your game as advertised in the subtitle very sadly. Extremely misleading, especially as most of the very limited advice, towards the very end only, is just common sense for anyone who's ever played golf. This is really just a thesis in support of using 'strokes gained' as a statistical tool. Such a shame.

Statistics not advice
