Into the Dark

What happens when an EMP sends the West Coast back into the Stone Age?

Following a massive EMP strike against the nation’s power grids, Frank Tilley faces the startling chaos of a powerless world. With his trusty dog in tow, he embarks on a dangerous journey to save his grandchildren from a perilous fate.

No Power

An EMP explodes over Washington, DC, and the world comes to screeching halt. As society falls into dismay, Harper Murphy, a skilled army quartermaster/single mother, charges headlong into the escalating chaos to save the only thing she holds dear: her son. In a world rife with chaos, how far would a mother go to protect her family?

This was pretty good. It just seemed like it needed something. But worth reading.
I liked the characters.

Journey

It's refreshing that a woman is the main character and that she is strong and fights for what she thinks is right.

When I pick up a book about emp, I want to read about the struggles and how they cope with lack of technology.

A large portion of the book is about fighting of the enemy and detailed descriptions of weapons and military jargon. You don't need a emp for that.

Although less then in some other books, Christianity is heavily twinned in, with focus on prayer and connection good personal character to being a good Christian person. It's praised when the husband starts going to church (even though it was mandatory) and how he swears less and is taking in the message on a personal level. At one point in the book it's bragged about how every single person attends church twice a week.

A book more about guns and the military

completely unrealistic. things fall apart the first day before anyone even knows what's going on. the dialog is just atrocious.

horrible dialog.
