narrator is so boring

ok I. followed this series for almost two years and they went and screwed it up .Turner did a outstanding job this new one just draws it out with no excitement

Missing Ryan Turner

It is hard to associate this book as a continuation of the series. With the new narrator, it’s a struggle to identify with the characters. Such a large departure between the vocal tones that the main character exudes as a older more cynical character rather than a inquisitive mischievous adolescent of the first four books.

Nice ideas but poor writing

The writing was jarring and many times the book made little sense. The characters are all from a previous series and this book could only be recommended if you want a cannon continuation of the characters from the primary author. The book starts like an anthology then settles In with the main group of characters with a few of those jarring cuts to confusing philosophical rants that seam to have been inserted with no context. This is the only audio book that I have ever wanted to be over faster so that I could be done with it.

Narration was great but story was not.

narrator existential crisis author oh my

for those who love doc and his pixie you will like the book but be prepared to deal with existential crisis and this is a study in what happens negatively when you switch narrators these characters because of the narrator are not as lifelike at 6 in the morning after a night shift when you're trying to stay awake You Close Your Eyes For a Moment with the other books you could still feel these characters know that they were being brought to life but with this narrator it's like monotone I droning slight changes in Pitch not truly bringing these characters to life he has potential but he should never have been allowed near this book he's just not ready for this because either something's gone wrong in the editing why he's just lost is that love of narrating at the moment

absolutely amazing.

another unique installment in this ever growing genre of dungeon core books. I am happy to say i am a huge fan of this authors work as the ideas in these books especially this new one are so new and simple that people bipass them.

the narrator change was a akward change in the start but I soon got over it as i was engrossed in the story and can say i am already dreading the time to wait for the next book.

Higher quality than the rest of the series

The downgrade in the scale of the plot easily allows the author to zoom in on the characters, which were sorely in need. While these characters have existed for three or four books now, they've always been very weak. Now, I feel like I understand them, and that they have depth and have earned their development.

Not loving the new narrator

Great book, love the story but the narrator is not as good as the old one. Beyond all the characters having new voices it is sometimes difficult to tell the difference between Doc and Rowan.

I Couldn't finish this due to voice actor change.

this book is a continuation of a story that exists on audible and I have listened to the series so far but the voice actors changed drastically and the change was too staggering to finish the book. the writing I've seen so far has been excellent however and I might try to finish the book through other means.

Heavy breather.

I’m not even an hour into the book and the thing that is throwing me off is the constant intake of breath by the narrator. So heavy.

lots of the feels

To many feels . lots of emotional introspection. to much for my taste. other then that another excellent start.
