About this listen
Who Drew You?
Were you drawn by the Father to His Son, as reflected in the historical context of John 6:44?
“No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up on the last day.”
Or, were you drawn by Jesus to Himself after He was raised up, as reflected in the context recorded for us
in John 12:32?
”And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all men to Myself.”
Due to relatively modern debates over man-made westernized theological constructs, the two drawings recorded for us above are often conflated to be one and the same, but does that fit the original context of John’s gospel? This book seeks to explore each of these passages in order to better understand the author’s intention within its proper historical context.
At the heart of this work lies a profound theological dispute. Throughout the rich tapestry of Christian history, countless disagreements, dialogues, and debates have left their indelible mark on the Church. From the earliest recorded disputes among the apostles to the present-day theological divisions among various denominations and sects, Christians have perpetually grappled with divergent beliefs and practices –both significant and trivial. That is a mark of human free will, after all.

To some, the concept of having faith in a higher power or a set of religious beliefs is nonsensical. Indeed, many view religion in general, and Christianity in particular, as unfounded and unreasonable. 6Norman Geisler and Frank Turek argue, however, that Christianity is not only more reasonable than all other belief systems, but is indeed more rational than unbelief itself. With conviction and clear thinking, Geisler and Turek guide listeners through some of the traditional, tested arguments for the existence of a creator God.

The first Christians were weird. Just how weird is often lost on today's believers. Within Roman society, the earliest Christians stood out for the oddness of their beliefs and practices. They believed unusual things, worshiped God in strange ways, and lived a unique lifestyle. They practiced a whole new way of thinking about and doing religion that would have been seen as bizarre and dangerous when compared to Roman religion and most other religions of the ancient world.

The ancient Toltecs believed that life, as we perceive it, is a dream. We each live in our own personal dream, and these come together to form the dream of the planet, or the world in which we live. Problems arise when our perception of the dream becomes clouded with negativity, drama, and judgment (of ourselves and others), because it's in these moments of suffering that we have forgotten that we are the architects of our own reality and we have the power to change our dream if we choose.

Story
The 10 enlightening (and often humorous) lectures of Medieval Myths and Mysteries will show you how far from the “dark” times of legend these centuries were. Uncover the facts about the Knights Templar. Reveal the truth behind the tales of legendary creatures like the Questing Beast and the unicorn. Trace the events of the Black Death and the ways it altered the world in its wake, and much more. With Professor Armstrong, you will dig deep into the ways that later generations reshaped the narrative of the medieval years and perpetuated the myths.

Story
The book of Enoch was thought to be lost for over 2,000 years until, in 1773, a traveller brought three copies back from Ethiopia. Whether or not this ancient book was actually authored by Enoch, the father of Methuselah and great-grandfather of Noah, is an ongoing debate among historians and theologians. But all recognise the book of Enoch as one of the most important apocalyptic works outside of the Bible.

This book makes a strong biblical case for the loving character of a God who treats His creation in a recognizably good way; a God who does not arbitrarily play favorites or show biased partiality; a God who makes Himself known in a clear and believable way; a God who is not most glorified at the expense of His creation, but at the expense of Himself for the sake of His creation; a God who demonstrates His love by providing the means of salvation for every individual. This book will address questions such as: What about those who never hear about Jesus? How can we say God is good when he ...

Story
Romans chapter 9 has become a dividing point between competing theologies for years. Calvinistic authors ground much of their interpretation of the Bible and understanding of God's nature and character from this particular chapter. Christians that are unaware of the theological traps they can fall into by blindly following Calvin's theological determinism can result in a distorted view of God's nature and character. The consequence of this is surely problematic when applying a predetermined view of God to the rest of the Bible that the Scriptures simply will not support. This has at times ...

This volume contains items that I have written on the subject of Calvinism. I have had a strong interest in this doctrinal system ever since I was an M.Div. student at Westminster Theological Seminary in Philadelphia (1962-1965). WTS at that time was a premiere Evangelical seminary, but was also most adamantly Calvinist in its theological orientation. During my years as a student there, I can remember no more than five other students besides myself that were not Calvinists. My teachers were respected Evangelical scholars as well as strict Calvinists. This affected me in two ways. First, I ...

Great understanding of Jesus’ earthly ministry
All would agree that context is key to understanding a passage or even an entire book. Flowers brings context to John and the other Gospels surrounding first century Israel and Jesus’ earthly ministry as opposed to his ministry after he was “lifted up.” I feel like many commentators and pastors ignore the fact that when Jesus started his earthly ministry there were Jewish believers in God and Jews who did not believe in God. If you don’t take that fact into account, then I think you can’t understand many of the things Jesus said. Flowers does a great job of including this fact in his explanation of passages in John’s Gospel.

The reasonability of Dr. Flowers argument. In a word Biblical!
The virtual voice was good, but needs to be tweaked. Meaning trying to pronounce abbreviations, biblical words, like Job (long O) instead of job.

Better Than Expected
I am naturally skeptical of how much can be garnered from a book that is posited merely as a rebuttal to another, but this title delivers as an excellent look into how the Bible supports God's goodness, love, and provision for all mankind to have the opportunity of salvation. (Virtual Voice narration isn't great, but it's still worth it.
