Roller coaster of emotions

Cass does an excellent job of describing the characters, their life experiences and traumas, and the setting in a way that had me fully invested. All the feels for this one. Highly recommend if you enjoy complex characters, slow burn, and angst.

Sweet and slow

Really great characters and nice slow and deep story development of two people falling in love and friendship.

Lovely story!

That ending really put the cherry on-top. The story line, the friendship, the unraveling of it all in the end. Loved.

“Down To A Science” by Haley Cass, Narrated by Lori Prince

This is the ultimate slow-burn! I love the pairing of scientist Ellie Beckett and firefighter, Mia Sharpe. At times I wanted to yell at both of them to figure out their feelings for each other, which made it even more satisfying when they finally did! I really enjoyed this book. Lori Prince’s narration was spot on!

I loved the back story between Mia and Ellie. I wished it was longer and was more in depth, but it’s a short story for a reason.

It was okay

I Much preferred Those Who Wait and When you Least Expect It over this novel.

New favorite

This is a new favorite and I can’t stop keep re-listening. I love these characters so much. Especially Ellie and Mia, but also Gianna and Riley. They’re all just so sweet, and seem like really amazing people.

I love the way the story is told in what seems to be Ellie’s voice; even though it’s told in third person, it feels like you’re hearing her thoughts.

And Lori Price really brings the characters to life. I appreciate the emotion she brings to the performance. Lori has really grown on me as I’ve listened to a handful of the books she’s narrated. I know she has a huge fan base, but it did take me some time to adjust to how… enthusiastic(?) (loud?) some of her voices for characters are. I started with “Those Who Wait” and I loved the book, but the narration (also by Lori) grated on me at first. But I think it works to illustrate how the main characters likely perceive the people around them.

Overall, I love this audiobook and I’m really looking forward to the next one with these characters!

Great story

Wonderful story all be it frustrating at times. I was truly pulled into the story and fell in love with the characters.

It is always a pleasure to find a fine author combining with a magnificent narrator to create a marvelous listening experience.
My compliments to Ms. Cass for creating two main characters who can believably navigate the complex problem of choosing friendship rather than deeper complexity, for fear of loosing their entire relationship.
I must point out that this novel is made almost perfect, by the marvelous Lori Prince, who once again raises every thing she performs to a very special level.
This is an extremely emotional novel, and her talents render every complex change of mood and character to perfection.
I look forward to experiencing this tandem again.
