Story
They said write what you know so that's what I did. I wrote dirty, I wrote erotic, I wrote the truth. And then they called me a liar. But it's not me who's lying, it's them. Our story isn't for everyone. It's not even for us. So if you're looking for the fairy tale and the stupid prince on his dumb white horse, move along. You've got a hold of the wrong book. This is not your story, this is not your life, and this is not your opportunity to dip your frightened little toe into the dark pool of water and "try new things" and then pull it out and decide... #NotForMe.

Story
The modern audience hasn't had a chance to truly appreciate the unknowing dread that readers would have felt when reading Bram Stoker's original 1897 manuscript. Most modern productions employ campiness or sound effects to try to bring back that gothic tension, but we've tried something different. By returning to Stoker's original storytelling structure - a series of letters and journal entries voiced by Jonathan Harker, Dr. Van Helsing, and other characters - with an all-star cast of narrators, we've sought to recapture its originally intended horror and power.

After the death of her grandmother, reluctant heiress Madilyn Marak agrees to stay with her grandfather at the estate for the summer. There, she finds an old diary hidden in an antique desk in the attic—The Apple Diary—written by her great-grandmother Isabel. In there, she finds the love story of Isabel and Lorah, along with a photograph of the two young women from 1933. The diary, like the love affair, was short and brief, but rich and vivid enough for her to feel a true bond with the women despite the heartbreaking ending.

Great story, excellent performance…
It’s intense. Skylar is instantly charming. Laura takes a bit; her world is revealed gradually. But as I got to “know” her and I came to admire her and appreciate her and “watch” her transformation. Last, definitely not least, Lori Prince delivers brilliantly.

A Great Romance
This is a great romance enhanced by Lori Prince's narration. I love the ice queen and age gap romance tropes and this was one of the best I've read. The romance is slow in coming, but I believe is realistic. They each have a bit of baggage to overcome so it was nice to see their happily ever after in the end.

Incredible Story!
As if I didn't already love this book enough, Lori Prince's narration has catapulted this book into the next realm. She perfectly captured the essence of who Laura and Skylar are, exactly as Adrian J. Smith penned them. Their voices are exactly as I imagined them when I first read the book back in the spring. The emotions she's able to evoke with her phrasing, cadence, and timing gripped my heart firmly. I found it extremely difficult to stop listening despite adult responsibilities calling. I am absolutely thrilled with the outcome of this audiobook! Adrian J. Smith's incredible writing paired with Lori Prince's brilliant narration makes this story an absolute winner in my book!
