About this listen

My name is Michael Claymore, former convicted felon and active duty space marine.

When the histories are studied by those happy few who inherit the galaxy we have left them with, my hope is that they look favorably, perhaps even with a bit of mirth, upon we poor souls who fought side by side with the mighty dinosaurs of Battle Force Jurassic.

The Invaders emerged from somewhere beyond the Milky Way and started conquering everything in sight. They brought with them massive kaiju monsters that made every Godzilla movie pale in comparison. These things would smash through our cities, gobbling up every human being, nuclear plant, or electrical tower they could find. In their wake came legions of alien infantry outfitted with body armor and ray guns, who stalked the ruins looking for survivors.

It was all our modern military could to just to hold them back, and even that cost us dearly. Humanity was in the deep dark stank of it, and some desperate scientists came up with a crazy idea. We needed not only a way to fight back effectively, but a symbol of power to rally around.

When a Tyrannosaurus Rex joins your team, especially one armed with missile launchers and mini-guns, you know it's business time.

A Great Listen

I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher and found it very entertaining. If you like books with lots of battles, this is the book for you. Earth and all its colonized planets are being attached. This has been done many times. This tale has a bit of twist. Through science and old DNA, dinosaur are reborn to help fight this battle along with criminal recruits. It is a very fast paced tale, with a bunch of interesting characters. It made my commute much more pleasant. I will be checking other titles from this author.

A silly dystopian Sci-Fi with Dinosaurs!

I had no idea what to expect going in to this book, but I love mech stories and I enjoy a good dinosaur story, and this combines both creating a highly entertaining listen that kept me hooked from the beginning. This book takes the alien invasion theme, cranks up the silly, and adds its own blend of originality. I found the pacing moved along nicely, making this a book you could listen to in one sitting. I would love to listen to more if the author decides to turn it into a series. The narrator does a great job with this story and his voice is perfect for the main character. He also does a great job with different voices and accents for each characters, so it’s easy to keep with who’s who. Overall, I’m glad I had the opportunity to listen to this book and I hope the author turns it in to a series.

They had me at T-Rex

With dinosaurs, aliens, and blaster rifles how could I resist? I couldn't. the story was fun and not too dramatic. It kept a good pace to keep me interested. I did Mark it down a little because the narrator had an accent that was at odds with the story, but only a half star.

An interesting start to an exciting series.

I enjoyed this book and have been using it for my daily commute. This book features the lives of marines serving in a penal military force that adapts to the invading force by implementing DNA copied dinosaurs with scifi enhancements. I enjoyed the series although from time to time I feel like the Author: Isaac Stone, struggled with how to impart the technological advances without having to reference older comparissons which feels forced from the modern stand point. All in all this was a fun listen and I certainly hope to be able to experience the rest of the series as it comes. Long live the legend Terry the Trex!

Armored dinosaurs, what's not to like?

Any additional comments?

Armored dinosaurs? Seriously? Crazy right? Yep, pretty much, but I mean that in a positive way. The book is silly fun. The very idea has a crazy 80's cartoon feel to it .. either that or the craziness of the old creature double features...am I showing my age with that reference? Probably. Bottom line is you have a story that would make a fun B-movie, and I say that as someone who very much enjoys B-movies. But like the vast majority of B-movies, the story won't stick with you. I have to say I never really came to identify/sympathize with the main character. His eyes merely served as the viewscreen into the chaos happening around him. If he'd been eaten by one of the massive creatures I wouldn't have been all that upset, lol. But of course when you are dealing with a book that features mechanized dinos fighting I suppose character development isn't really a major concern. I will I found the ending a bit disappointing, thought the wrap up was ... well just that, a wrap up. Fun diversion.

This is the second book I've listened to that was narrated by J. Scott Bennett, and once again I was not disappointed. There is something about his voice that I find engaging and entertaining.

It was ok

I guess I was hoping for more dino warfare. I did enjoy this story, it could just used a bit more of that something to take out to the next level.

Rampaging DinoMechs, felons and aliens

This is a dystopic, sci-fi story of battling alien invaders with convicted felons and dinosaurs. Set in a future when most of the populous has left Earth to live in better conditions on various terraformed planets, we first meet our protagonist as he kills someone while robbing a bank in an impoverished area of Earth. Somewhat of an antihero, Clay gets recruited from "jail" to be part of a disposable military group, composed of convicted felons. They are to provide ground support for the newly bred and trained DinoMechs as the battle the alien invaders. With hints of Jurassic Park in its means of recreating dinosaurs, this story entertains us with gory battles, clashing monsters, jungle adventures and cult female assassins. Scott Bennett did an excellent job of the narration, he drew you into the story, giving the characters personality and imparting emotion and tension in all the right spots. He also did a great job of the different accents too. I'm not sure if I would have like this story if I had just read the book as I found the characters somewhat one dimensional, but the narration really brought the story to life. It is an easy listening, quick, entertaining story. I received the audiobook at no cost and under no obligation to review.
