Leaves you wanting more

A few twists and turns await the reader and the author leaves you awaiting more. The beginning had me wondering if I had gotten a historical fiction book rather than the science fiction I was expecting. I will definitely be listening to this book again

Haunting, beautiful, mysterious

I liked the first two Sav'ine books a lot. This book though, takes the cake. The first Sav'ine book is like a mob book. The second is a who-done-it in space. This one... It reminds me of Dracula, but better and without vampires. I just love the feel and the intrigue of this book. It's so haunting and so dark, but it's also filled with hope. This book is like a comforting hug to me.

Sci-fi at it's best

This is such a great story. It can be a little hard to follow because it goes from the present story to past times. However, once you get the hang of the back and forth it is such a fun story to listen to. Bender takes Sci-fi adventure, lots of interesting characters and story lines, and a beautiful love story and creates this wonderful book. It amazes me at the story telling ability she has .... so creative and interesting. Elir and Diamond are characters you really get invested in. The narrator, Holland, did an amazing job breathing life into her story. The characters seem so real. He has a way of making you forget someone is reading the story to you. It just seems like you are there watching it in your mind like a play or something. I love his work. These two are a great team and I hope the series continues. The only thing I would have enjoyed more is if it had connected to the other books in more of a continued story. This one really was more of it's own book. Other than that it was a huge thumbs up!!!

a haunting and tragic tale

*audiobook recieved for free, author is a close friend of the reviewer*

While it is absolutely accurate to call Diamond Mind a Tragedy and a Haunting story, both of these words fail to get at the emotional resonance within the book. It is the strongest story in The Sa'vine Guard ao far. Diamond Mind has a smaller number of characters than previous Sa'vine stories, and this is a point which helps make Diamond my favorite character from this series.

Theo Holland is a great narrator, he has a wide range of accents and tones, and some post production brings the characters to life. For example, at one point, two characters speak over top of each other, and Theo narrates both characters and overlaps the readings to play at the same time.

Diamond Mind is a perfect book for anyone who enjoys tragedy, mysteries, or just a strong story.
