Publisher's summary

The Space Team Universe just got a whole lot darker.

In an alien city torn apart by crooked cops and ruthless criminals, private detective Dan Deadman specializes in cases unusual and bizarre.

Sure, he doesn't smell great, and he's technically been dead for quite some time, but if you've got a rampaging Hell-beast tearing up your street, or a portal to another dimension appearing in your bathroom, Dan's your man.

After saving a mysterious young woman named Ollie from the clutches of something big, slimy, and unpleasant, Dan gets entangled in a missing child case, a string of grisly murders, and a severed woman's arm that just won't leave him alone.

And then there's the demonic entity who'll stop at nothing to get its tentacles on Ollie, even if it means destroying the whole damn planet.

Times like these, Dan would give his right nut to be a real detective.

If he still had nuts.

From the world of Space Team: The Guns of Nana Joan, Dial D for Deadman is the first darkly comedic action adventure novel starring Dan Deadman, Space Detective.

Phil Thron

Voice of Artur is perfect. Best performance by Phil yet in Barry's books. Great start to the series.

Great addition to the space team universe!

This is a great spin off and stays in keeping with the original universe. I dare say it could be better than the last couple of space team books. Arturo is hilarious and Ollie Doll is as well. Dan is great as a main character. Credit well spent!

Very enjoyable!!!

I really enjoyed this story. Laughed several times and enjoyed the banter between the characters. I will read more books in this series. Narrator also did a superb job.

The Barry and Phil team does it again!

After being so loyal to Space Team and the characters I wondered how I could possibly like Dan Deadman as much. Thank goodness I listened. Although darker than I usually listen too Barry’s writing is superb, funny when it needs to be yet soft and kind when you hope it to be. Phil
Thron nails each character with hilarious timing and tone for each of these characters. At one point I thought there were was another voice other than the single narrator. It is clear that the narrator and the writer have a relationship with not just the characters but with each other. It’s a perfect fit and I cannot wait to listen to more! Congratulations and thank you for such a great ride! Please keep writing and narrating! Oh and everyone needs an Artur!

Another fun Hutchison outing.

I'm straight up a Barry J. Hutchison fan, so I think that at this point, I'd love anything he does. I love the style and characters and humor. I could do without the leprechaun swearing and vulgarities, but at least they are at a low dosage.

I saw some giving this book a low review, but I was still curious since I love his other work. This is a little more low key and not quite as an interesting story as his others, but it is fun and has fun characters. If you are a fan of his other work, I don't think you'll go wrong here. Plus, the sequels seem to increase in ratings, so you might as well start here.
