About this listen

“Mr. Kendall, in the past few months there have been a number of doctors who have mysteriously disappeared, or whose deaths were either alleged to be accidents, or were suicides, or they were actually murdered.”

Kendall made a mental note to find out about these "other doctors".

“A number of doctors you said. How many are we talking about?”

Mrs. Eaton thought for a few moments.

“To my knowledge there have been at least eight cases in the past six months. There may be a whole lot more that I know nothing about.”

Aced it again !!!

John Holt have done it again.
I really enjoy every book of his and when he couples with the narrator Mark Sando no argument there an excellent audiobook is born each time !!!
In a way instead of writing a review on every book of his I could probably just copy/paste one review to every audiobook by John, he have never disappointed me, not yet and the way he writes probably he will never will !!!

I full heartedly recommend this and all of John Holts books.

Yes I got this audiobook for free but I fully believe that my review was honest.

Another great book!

I noticed in the last story I read by John Holt, he likes to take his time and establish the story and not just give you a rushed summary so he can get to the fast-paced action. He is methodical and lays out the story in a way that keeps you interested. I didn’t even notice that Kendall wasn’t even in the story until chapter 6.

There’s a doctor going around saying that cancer is killing people, cancer treatment is killing people and people don’t like it. People in high places or angry and it’s not just him it’s his colleagues and cronies that are popping up dead, looking as if they commit suicide or had an unfortunate accident in their own home. That’s what happened to Doctor Ethan, but his wife is it taking it lying down as a matter of fact she’s bringing in the big dogs she is bringing in Molly and Kendall, But first her and Molly have to convince Kendall it’s murder. Every time I read one of these books when I get towards the end I start getting ANSI know when I have another. But while reading this one I was so enthralled with the plot even when I wasn’t reading it I was thinking about it. I love these books I love candles humor parade there’s a great read for those who like medical thrillers, PI stories ET see.

Twists and turns

Witty, held my attention throughout.

Too much repeating of story- drawn out too often though.

Mark Sando did a good job narrating.

Twists and turns held my attention throughout! Amazing how greed drives people!

A must listen to audiobook!

Christopher Lane did an excellent job of narrating

Murdered doctors start piling up

When ex-cop, turned PI, Kendall is asked by a recent widow to look into their husband's 'accidental death'. comes across dozens of medical doctors dying off in strange circumstances. Most are put down to accident or suicide, but Kendall doesn't think so. Is there a conspiracy against these doctors, all of whom are researching or speaking out against 'Big Pharma' and believe in alternative cancer cures? Or is there something else going on?

The story here is generally a good one, with a good mystery that unfolds well, although it can a bit long in the tooth in places. The PI Kendall is likable - that right mix of knowing when to bend or break rules to get things done - and good at his job. The rest of the supporting cast are also fleshed out enough to not feel flat or just there for exposition. Overall it kept me interested and guessing throughout.

Narration by Mark Sando is good. He does character voices, and is well paced and clear. No issues with the production or narration. More than happy to listen to more of his work.

Suicides? Accidents? Murders!

Kendall and Molly once again embark on a complicated investigation - multiple murders. Some of these crimes were initially concluded as either suicide or accidents.

It was too concerning though because the victims were doctors! These medical professionals were either dying or missing. and they have one thing in common - they were all working on something really important that would revolutionalize cancer treatment and therapy.

John Holt, as usual, managed to entertain me with his unique ability to come up with twists and turns that made me hooked until the last line. The narration helped a lot in giving justice, both to the story and the characters.

Highly recommended book!

Ex NYPD

Kendall is a persistent private detective (ex-NYPD) who does not believe in coincidences. He was hired by wife of doctor who believed her husband was murdered as well as other doctors. The more he investigates he finds all the doctors are connected by cancer research alternative cancer cure than the conventional pharmaceutical chemotherapy. Recommend if you enjoy a decent murder mystery with likeable detective. I was given this free review copy audiobook by author and have voluntarily left this review. Thank you

Give it a chance

I had a hard time rating this audiobook. I liked the book but I found Kendall to be a very simple minded investigator. I finally stopped judging Kendall and just listened to the book I enjoyed it. I thought Mark Sando does a good job of narrating this book. He kept me listening to the end. I would listen to more by this author but I need to remember that the style of this investigator is not what I am used to reading.

I was gifted this book with the understanding that I would leave an honest review.

Great read !!

The plot wasn’t so thick that it could not be easily figured out but the way it was written was enough to keep me captivated and and on the edge until the end.

I really enjoyed this book!
