Super dark

This kidnapping story is thoroughly entertaining but keep in mind that it is extremely dark. And by that I mean there is a lot of non-consensual acts. The narration was spot on.

I received this audiobook at no-cost. The gifting of this audiobook did not affect my opinion of it.

A truly twisted story .. and I loved it.

This book surprised me in the sense that I immediately thought David would not be redeemable based on his actions. I was surprised to like him and even understand him toward the end. The beginning of the book was truly difficult to listen to, making me feel ill a little but it was also really erotic. That's the kind of story that makes a girl question herself for sure! And because if that, I loved it even more. It has a unique quality to it, even though I've heard revenge stories before shaped into dark romances, this one felt different, like it had its own energy to it. Hard to describe really. But it's definitely an amazing book with some great narrators. That said, Leo's little shouting bursts felt like they might pop my eardrums with my headphones in! I'm joking around but in all seriousness, get this book, but only if you have a thick skin and a strong stomach because it is not for the faint of heart by any stretch of the imagination. It's brilliant.

Lianna and David

This book was really good. David kidnapped and abused Lianna to get to her father. He did some horrible things to her because he had a dark and twisted mind. We find out why later in the book. This book is very dark. Things do not turn out the way David planned and Lianna's father finds them. Mia Madison and Leo Barnabas did a very good job with the narration.

kinda f ed up

This could have been a good thriller, but the ending was dull like the whole thing. bummer

if non-con troubles you, don't listen. really good if you're into it like the main character.

Good writing but a little to dark for most listeners

While I truly like Mrs. Bene’s writing. This was one of her more edgy titles. There was a good deal of non- consent in the sex department. Although, in the end the main character seemed to enough the rough way David took her. It still took awhile for the story to grow on the me, given the extreme lengths David went to in order to seek revenge for his family. He eventually is able to see her as the innocent woman she truly is and make the best of a bad start.

Another bad Male Narrator

The story is really slow and the male narrator is bad. His volume is such a huge range that I find myself turning the sound up and a few seconds later he's so loud it hurts my ears. He is putting too much feeling in it and it's irritating as hell. I am so sorry I bought the audible version. There's $8 bucks I won't get back.

didn’t finish..but here’s my 2cents

Let me start by saying, I LOOK for books with negative, trigger warning, it crossed the line reviews. Having said that… This wasn’t even fun. I love non consent but so far (I haven’t finished the book so, you know, take that into account) the guy has just raped her. No sexy stalking or word games or chase. Nope he just breaks in grabs her while she’s watching tv and rapes her. Im not offended or anything by this, it was just..not that sexy. She just begs him to stop, on multiple occasions, while she cringes away. It’s just not very entertaining. Also there’s a weird spot where he has her dad on the phone and is fingering her, as well as some weird talk about if her dad touched her. Not for me. I feel bad about not finishing and I’m going to try a dif one of this authors books since the potential was there.

You call this a novel?

Well it’s not!!! This is the worst plot I’ve ever made the mistake of listening to. It’s just rape, kidnap, rape again and several instances of severe beatings. Oh but I’m sure the author will somehow try to made the psycho seem loveable before the end. Did not bother to finish & will not listen to anything else by this author!

Trigger warning needed

There is a warning of dark or explicit content in this book. I think readers should really really be aware that this isnt a bdsm type book, the book includes several rape scenes. No not 50 shades of grey or whatever. the book has lots of rape in it. Honestly couldn't understand how the romance could be salvaged to help the story end. Yikes, the book needs a real trigger warning so folks dont confuse it with ethical kink.
