Einer der schönsten Momente als Audible-Mitarbeiter? Wenn man entdeckt, dass es ein geliebtes Buch noch gar nicht als Hörbuch gibt und man selbst diesen Missstand korrigieren kann. So ging es dem Audible-Team bei "Thursday Next". Die vor Ideen fast berstende Reihe hatte sich bei uns als liebenswürdiger Geheimtipp herumgesprochen, noch bevor das Hörbuch überhaupt erschienen war. Als Literatur-Fan fällt es auch sehr schwer, Jasper Ffordes Paralleluniversum nicht zu lieben: Eine Welt, in der Bücher so wichtig sind, dass es Straßenkämpfe zwischen Anhängern verschiedener Literaturgattungen gibt; eine Spezialeinheit, die Reisen in Bücher durchführt und ein Superschurke, der die hilflose Jane Eyre aus Charlotte Brontës Roman entführt - wir waren hin und weg.

Great story, (understandable) translation woes
I loved listening to the book again, and German keeps me in practice. Unfortunately, this is a very hard series to translate because of the puns. I still think the translator could have taken a few liberties with the names (Rainer Scheiss instead of Jack Schitt, zb?) and made it feel a bit more in the spirit of the original. The reader was good. On the whole this was very enjoyable, and I will buy more.
