Publisher's summary

What happens when the hunter becomes the hunted?

Before that night, there wasn’t much in my life I could complain about. I hunt rogue demons for a living, which is the coolest thing ever, and my brothers are the best. Sure, there was that thing with our parents betraying humanity, and okay, I wasn’t thrilled when my brother-bestie hooked up with a demon, but everything else was amazing.

Except that Dylan, the person I love more than anything, wanted to keep our relationship secret.

I got it; I really did. He’s lost all his family, and he was afraid if my family adopted him, he might lose them too. It’s not like we’ve got the world’s safest jobs. I was sure he’d change his mind eventually.

That decision was taken from him one awful night. Now, everyone knows, but Dylan’s more worried about the people trying to kill me. Unidentified and vicious; that’s all we know. Oh, and they hacked The Collective’s server.

How does a demon hunter fight a virtual threat? He doesn’t… that’s his kickass techie boyfriend’s job. Dylan will find these people, and then we’ll deal with them.

Even if there is more going on than we know about.

Fun listen

I enjoy Louisa Masters’s work. She writes fun characters that are well developed, and storylines that keep me coming back for the next in series. I love Greg Boudreaux as a narrator. His voices, pronunciations, and timing make the story flow and keep me captivated.

Fun characters, compelling story

I enjoyed Matt and Dylan's story. They both are funny and sweet. The call back to Mark and Ian's story throughout was also nice.

Matt's all grown up!

I love these characters and their world. I hope we see more! Narration is great, too.

Loved it

The audio is well done and I enjoyed it. I loved the story itself and thought it was a great follow up to Higher Demon.
If you read Ghostly Guardians and liked it you'll like The Collective books as well. Also, even though Demon Hunter can be read as a stand alone, it's best to start with Ghostly Giardians to get a full experience, since a lot of characters does show up from previous books.

All the Love for Matt and Dylan

Love the story of Matt and Dylan. Masters is masterful at including all the favorite characters and yet still making it about Matt and Dylan. There are some teary moments but still lots of laughs and snark for lovers of the Collective’s humor. A great story and Greg rocks it, as per usual, in his delivery! :-)

So Good

Love this series. Matt and Dillon’s story was so good. Didn’t want to stop listening to it. The world Louisa creates is so well done that you feel like you’re a part of it. Hope to see more from this world. The narrative was spot on too. Can’t go wrong with this story.

Another averagely bland story

About as average as the first. Most of the characters besides the main four you're left wondering who they are because the book doesn't put any time into explaining them; this was a problem with the first one as well. Besides Mark it's really hard to tell who's speaking as all of the voices for the characters are practically the same. The story goes from average pacing in the first two thirds then just break neck speeds to end. The relationship between Matt and Dylan is cute but like with Mark and Ian I just wish there was more. This story really needed more fleshing out as well as character development and world building. I don't regret buying the book but it's really just a one and done listen. There's no bite or spark to really come back and re-listen once it's over.
