A very promising start of a new spin-off series!

I bought this book on reflex when I saw it under new releases. I love The Reckless Damned and Damned Connections so it felt natural to buy first and read the blurb later. 😃

I didn't realize this new series is connected to the others, that it is another spin-off series, that definitely was a pleasant surprise. And my mind was completely blown by the connection and shared history revealed in The Closet!

I thought Finley's and Chester's story started a bit slow but that's often the case with a new series. Finley wanting to approach Chester slowly and carefully was so sweet and I loved how understanding and comforting he was when Chester had panic attacks or was uncomfortable. The more Chester came around the more obvious it became that they fit together really well.

The plot was a bit predictable but the framework for the overarching plot has been laid out. That's what I think anyway. 🤪

I was going to rate it 4-4.5 but the epilogue... During the whole book my heart broke for Evan. The epilogue made me so, so happy and now I am frustrated as we have to wait for the next book to be released. I am looking forward to all guys from the inner circle having their own books but especially Logan's book is bound to be one hell of a ride.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Five stars from me, both for Finley's story and the narration.
