About this listen

Maine Acadia National Park is one of the most visited national parks in the United States. It is an adventure seeker's paradise. Hiking, climbing, snowshoeing, back-country skiing, and ice-climbing are among the activities pursued there; as well as the less extreme sight seeing along the park road and Atlantic coast. Death in Acadia gathers the stories of fatalities that have occurred in the park, from falls to exposure to cardiac arrest - even getting swept out to sea - and presents dozens of misadventures.

Boring

Yes, this is very boring. I would have stopped listening sooner but I was out on a run and didn’t have a good option. I hope to return it.

Great read!

I really enjoy the death in the national parks books. Very interesting to hear how people him not made it out of a national park.

Mixed Feelings!

I have a number of books written by Rangers concerning various National Parks, and the deaths that have occurred there. Perhaps some would think a book like this is morbid, maybe it is, a little. Regardless, the book is well researched and well written. It makes one quite aware that among all the beauty of Acadia, or any National Park, one moment of carelessness can be deadly. It was sad to hear of the many deaths! I was not crazy over the narrator; he was a little starchy and monotone, at times. I think I’d rather read this book than listen to it.

Hammy narrator

It was a good book, not as good as the Yellowstone version, but more light-hearted, well written.
The problem was the narrator, who's voice is nice, but every time there was a quote, he would launch into some kind of Brooklyn /old news reporter-esq, voice that unfortunately he didn't do very well and never got completely right, this distracted from the story and I feel that he would have been better served by just deepening or raising his voice, or changing the inflection instead of the accent. although I appreciated the distinction, I do not feel that it was well executed and I hope that they redo the audio sometime, perhaps somebody else can narrate the quotations.

Horrible narration

I feel strongly that a narrator should do a bit of research on pronunciations. If I had to hear Bang-gore pronounced as Bang-‘er I would die
