Acerca de esta escucha

Lacey Doyle, 39 years old and freshly divorced, has made a drastic change: She has walked away from the fast life of New York City and settled down in the quaint English seaside town of Wilfordshire.

Spring is in the air. With last month’s murder mystery behind her, a new best friend in her English shepherd, and a budding relationship with the chef across the street, it seems like everything’s finally settling into place.

Lacey is so excited for her first major auction, especially when a valuable mystery artifact enters her catalog. All seems to go without a hitch, until two mysterious bidders arrive from out of town, and one of them winds up dead.

With the small village plunged into chaos and with the reputation of her business at stake, can Lacey and her trusty dog partner solve the crime and restore her name?

Death and a Dog is the second book in the charming Lacey Doyle cozy mystery series by Fiona Grace. Buy it now to enjoy!

This was a very cozy mystery &
I felt good after reading it. Main character not perfect but I enjoyed the way she loved her dog & her shop. Listening to the author’s words through the narrator was delightful. It was an easy read that left me feeling uplifted (not a religious story) & happy. A good feeling while sheltering in place for 10 months, removing my attention away from my worries about the devastation of Covid-19.

Really liked the main character

Found another author and series to really enjoy. Different and you won’t figure out who “who dunnit”

Exceptionally good …

The book was ok, but almost the same plot as her first book. Also she met her boyfriend's mother in the first book. What happened here? Did all of them suffered from amnesia?

almost identical plot as first book

It's a temptation to skip the first book in a series as the beleaguered protagonist struggles to clear her name and gain trust. The second book was the same book in most areas. The mystery in this one was much thinner. Looking at the blurbs for the series all but one have a similar structure. No more, sadly. The scenario was good.

Wearying

While the first book was charming, this one was a let down. I hate to say that the narrator wasn’t great. Her voice is very nice, but anything other than an English accent sounded pretty terrible. It’s probably best she didn’t bother to use an American accent for the main character. The plot was interesting, but it just turned into a repetition of the first novel. Lacey was kind of unbearable and uneven.

Disappointing

The romance is tepid, the main protagonist is not all that likeable and a bit slow. You will figure out the culprit long before the lead character does. I couldn’t figure out why she wanted to live in the village where she thinks many residents suspect and dislike her.

Boring
