About this listen

Once, there was a librarian, a warrior woman, and a love story that was out of this world...and now they're back in an all-new adventure! Holly would never have believed that the gorgeous woman who appeared in her backyard one magical night (wielding a sword) would turn out to be the love of her life - but the lady knight Virago is exactly that. Virago and Holly are madly in love, and Virago is still learning the ways of our world (and becoming slightly addicted to coffee). But as much as Virago loves Holly, she can't forget the world she came from. One night, another massive storm descends on Boston, and this time, four new women appear in Holly's backyard, each one of them wielding a sword. They are close friends and fellow knights of Virago, but they're not here to visit. They have come through the portal to ask Virago back one last time. The queen of Virago's beloved city is in danger and needs Virago's help. Holly is a librarian who always wished magic was real. And now, her new girlfriend is going to take her to another world. With an assassin on the loose and an evil king out to get the queen, what could possibly go wrong? Date Knight is a light-hearted, fantastical romance that will take you on a journey you'll never forget. It is a sequel to A Knight to Remember.

amazing!

Love love love it! Such an amazing story! The way the story was written and told paints a picture in the readers mind and makes it seem like you are there in each moment with the characters! Definitely a must read!

Great Sequel

The sequel was just as enticing as the original. Edit: So I just realized there ARE more books in this series to answer all my questions. These audio books are addictive.

I mean...

it's okay but, I really hate the dragging out of something to happen... kinda makes the main character ummm annoying

*spoiler alert*

like when she arrives back in her room... gosh, it's so drawn out. like GET ON WITH IT.

When she was about to die... GET ON WITH IT.

her feelings when she overhears a conversation... gosh, I want to slap her. GET ON WITH IT. and I can't seem to get the fast forward to work just right. I miss something important.

just so many scenes dragging it hurts my brain lol... maybe I'm just impatient and want to get straight into action.

This was a great Book

I really enjoyed every moment of this book
I wish it was longer to give us more of their lives after the queen was home. I would of loved to follow the characters more as they explored the new world together.
this was a book that kept me on the edge of my seat with Knotts in my stomach at times.
you must read both Knights books.

Get on with it

Sums up the story perfectly and this story truly killed any desire I had to listen to any others in this series. Not only does the plot drag so much I actually slept through part of it and missed nothing but even when you do actually get to the ending it’s so anti-climactic that you actually wonder why you kept going.

So many places in this book where 5 words or less would have been perfect but it took like 3 pages to say it and then the main character had to repeat like 20 times because the author had to fill in space I guess. I described these as daytime television and this book for me confirmed that opinion. It just kept dragging on and on. The only thing in it was the love scene and even that started to drag on.

This book had so much potential but from the very start where the other knights show up the story just makes you want to scream “GET ON WITH IT!!!” I was looking forward to this even with the review about the story problem but this was so much worse then that even that implied. If Bridget Essex even learns to actually write a decent story I might come back, but as of right now, she’s off my reading list...

Lady Holly Is the Key

Holy moly!! This sequel is out of sights d written so vividly that I thought I was getting rained on!! I am picking up that Lady Holly is the key to vanquishing anything!! The twists and turns in the plot are something else and held me in suspense!! I was pleased to the hilt of my sword to read this book and the reader was excellent!! More from Lady Holly please!! Great book!!

love this series

who hasn't dreamed of a magical world where battles are fought with swords rather than lies, money and politics?y only complaint is too many threads left hanging. But that only demands a sequel, which I would buy the minute it's on auidio.

Poorly written

I was super excited to read a story focused on queer female characters. The actual story was ok but the distractingly poor writer became painful to overlook. The word usage was redundant, unnecessarily simplistic and lacked creativity and depth. It really was just painful to listen to repeated statements like, “she said” used over and over like there are no other literary choices.
