I read the book a few years ago and it was even better on audible! It needs to be a movie

I discovered this book by chance. The author did a great job. However the man behind the voice brought the story to life.

Very different storyline...but good!

l didn't think that l would have like this book...but l did. lt was very different from what l'd usually pick...but it kept me interested and l liked it.

This book kept me waiting to see what was going to happen next. Im not going to say the best, but it is worth the read.

I really enjoyed this book. It was a very good vampire story and I want to read more from this author.

Excellent listen

Telling stories like this gives a great mix of fantasy and reality. I hope there is a 2nd book using the same narrator. I’d like to see the growth of the characters. We need more writers in this genre.

1ts Time Reading/ to Massy & Glad I Did!

Whenever reading or listening to books on the subject of vampires, I'm usually a little more hasty than most. But I must say, dark corner was such an original take on the modern vampire, I was highly impressed! Massey brought forth such a marvelous group of characters, and I'm not just talking about the main characters, although the character building was sensational! But the supporting characters, even the town folk, came to life!

To top it all off, the narration was phenomenal! As of mid-December 2023, dark corners is on the plus catalog, even if it isn't at the time you're reading this, I strongly recommend adding this to your library!

Yes. Great story. The author weaved the different characters and the plot together very well.

What did you like best about this story?

It kept my attention the whole way through. It hooked me from the first scene. It was a great story about a man searching for his father, and the theme of father/son relationships was echoed in two other sets of characters. It took me on a journey, and then surprised me at the very end, just when I had forgotten about David's search for his own father. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Have you listened to any of J.D. Jackson’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

It was good. I usually listen to Jackson's narrations at 1.25x speed which improves the pacing. He is really good at doing different characters.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Even though it was 18+ hours, I finished it faster than any other audiobook I've listened to so far.

Any additional comments?

It was a great story. Sometimes the dialogue of certain characters was distracting, and I laughed out loud at the ridiculousness of a vampire leaving a cassette tape player for David with a sticky note that said, "play me," but all in all it was really fun escapism. Since it was written last decade, I'm curious to see how Massey has since developed as a writer.
