State Road 177 runs along the Suwannee River, between Fargo, Georgia, and the Okefenokee Swamp. Drive that route from east to west, and you'll cross six bridges. Take it from west to east, and you might find seven. But you'd better hope not. Titus and Melanie Bell leave their hotel in Fargo for a second honeymoon canoeing the Okefenokee Swamp. But shortly before they reach their destination, they draw up to a halt at the edge of a rickety bridge with old stone pilings, with room for only one car....

When, much later, a tow-truck arrives, the driver finds Titus lying in the middle of the road, but Davina is nowhere to be found.

the cousins are great weird old characters. the story takes interesting turns. fun gothic horror

Narrator really brought this story to life

This was a different take on the local monster tale and I really liked it, but the narration enhanced the story and made it my favorite listen this year. Each character was well defined and recognizable from the others. Kudos!!

No lull in the story line

I truly enjoyed the book. It flowed so well. I would read it again. wow

Loved it

As far as the story it was good but nothing jaw dropping. The narrator was amazing! Some of the characters were really funny and made me laugh. The narrators delivery was spot on. I would listen to anything he narrates if he is always this good

Great characters

As others have said the two old cousins are hilarious. By far the best part of the story.

Do yourself a favor and just listen/read. Just do it, you won’t regret it. This is the kind of story that will keep you listening and you’ll be sad when real life makes you hang it up for a while, you’ll be itching to press play again when you’re done work or whatever task keeping you from listening. It’s that kind of story. A rare gem ♥️

The narration….

The story was good, but the narration was phenomenal. You would think you were listening to a handful of different narrators, but it’s just one very talented man.

the story in itself was really good but the narrator was phenomenal. this was a real delight to listen to.

started out great

spoiler very disappointed in thr end the main character died and cam because the main character they just stopped talking about Titus and Dave. the whole book I was hoping Titus would get Melanie back it was so suspenseful and I really never thought it would end like thatbit dropped from like over an 8 to a 6. 😦 it did t even get into the story what this happened and what the creature was and how and why daisy and the other killed themselves and who were rhe ghosts in the house. I thought the performance started out annoying but that go good. I really go good images in my head from this book it even made me want to start drawing things from the book but the ending really dropped it from a great book to a decent book.

Excellent story. Love the cousins! I think they just might be my favorite characters ever,
