Very Dark

The stories are very dark. Sent chills throught my bondy. It is unbelieveable that they are all true. Pierce did a great job narrated and bringing the stores to life.

Great overview

Greatly enjoyed and well told, but I'd like more detail and reference for further reading. The John Wayne Gasey article was great! Wish the whole book was written the same way. Definitely a good listen if you like true crime!!

A well told series of stories by Kevin Pierce

This is a very good compilation of crime stories. They are very well told by the narrator as always.

Something for everyone

This collection offers a little bit of everything, not only in terms of the types of incidents covered, but also in the perspectives presented by the different authors. The types of incidents covered is impressive--everything from devastating fires breaking out at concerts, to serial killers, to child abusers, to school shootings. Presentation also varies: some writers focus on lurid details of how the bodies are found, particularly when the victim is a female; others focus more on solving the crime, which is the part I prefer. Some focus extensively on murders committed by women; in fact, it would be easy to come away with the impression that women murder as often as men do, even though statistics tell me this is not true. Others focus on cases covered by the Innocence project. Some express dismay that particular women could have attracted so many men given that they are supposedly 'so homely'; others talk openly about some of the problems of sexism that women can encounter in their lives. Every time I was fed up with a particular author's presentation, it mercifully changed to something more palatable. The sheer range of topics and perspectives provides a lot of food for thought.

WoW - chilling

This is a great book of many, many chilling stories. Some I remember, some go back to the 1800s. Definitely add this to your true crime library.

Dallman the facts and no fluff

The authors do an exceptional job of presenting these countless stories from a strictly fact based perspective. At first, I was disappointed that there was not more analysis of each killer. However, as I continued to listen, I grew to appreciate that each author stuck to the facts that are researchable and left it to the listener to decipher the motive behind a lot of these atrocities. Well narrated and well written

Foray into the criminal mind.

Very interesting and great narration. Covers many famous criminal events in calm approach . Read it!
