About this listen

"If you find you have some time, how wonderful if we could have a little chat and share a cup of Christmas tea."

A man receives an invitation from his elderly, ailing aunt and doesn't want to go. It's the midst of the Christmas rush, and who needs the aggravation? The depression? The strain? Driven by guilt, he visits her anyway - and rediscovers the true meaning of Christmas.

Tom Hegg wrote "A Cup of Christmas Tea" in 1981, when his pastor asked him to write something for his church's 125th anniversary. Drawing on childhood memories, he composed a straightforward, sentimental poem that brought tears to his audience's eyes. First published in 1982, it's been a seasonal best-seller ever since.

"A Memory of Christmas Tea", published in 1999, is the heartwarming sequel. Revisiting the themes of "A Cup of Christmas Tea", it gently reminds us of the important things in life - such as taking time for loved ones.

What Christmas is all about

These two are not only beautifully written poems but they hold the story of what Christmas means! Many times I have recite it or listen to a cup of Christmas tea but only this year have I discovered the counterpart the sequel on memory of Christmas tea and it just adds to the joy and the deep meaning of Christmas that Tom Haik gives us in these two beautiful pieces of poetry filled with the Christmas spirit.

Very well written story poem with music

Very well written Christmas story Poem. This gives a proper perspective on Christmas season and love in general. It reflects well the feelings and the fast pace of life that sometimes overcomes us.

It’s a great reminder of how to be still and know that he is God loving his ways and others is how we need to align our lives.

Also shows a well rounded Christian. Exactly what I want to be. As apostle Paul said I run the race well

Excellent!

It was like going back in time. I was blessef to have 4 grat aunts that nurtured my siblings, cousins, and myself. We always took time out during the holidays to visit and take gifts
They were always interested in our lives and gave good advice as needed. We always ended our visits with a prayer. and a promise to visit when I was at home again. They are all gone now, but I am blessed to have the memories. these stories always mske me think of those times with my great aunts and uncles
