About this listen

“It’s a reality that many coaches and athletes today have lost the joy of sport, often replacing it with a win-at-all-costs mentality. This is where the concept of a servant’s heart comes in, refocusing a coach’s true purpose to coaching and life. Cultivating Champions is a must-read for any coach who wants to rediscover the joy of sport while elevating their skill set.” —Bob Veroulis, Montana FCA State Director

Building trust and safety with your teams can feel like such an abstract challenge, and Ben clearly lays out the steps to create that environment for your athletes. Using timeless wisdom and connecting it in practical ways to the coaching profession, this book will guide you in making a lasting impact on your athletes’ lives.” —Paul Rush, Director of Athletics, Northwest Nazarene University

“We are in a challenging time for universities, athletes, and coaches. Those of us who coach and teach know WHAT we have been called to do. We get caught up in the process of coaching. However, not everyone understands WHY. Cultivating Champions is an excellent reminder of WHY we do this. It is a call to remember our calling.” —Ben Welch, Head Cross Country/Track & Field Coach, Eastern Oregon University
