Scarlett Chase is loving her latest temp job at a local children’s charity during the most magical time of the year. The office is bustling as workers help to provide Christmas gifts for needy children. The charity workers are also preparing for their big fundraising gala, which will raise the money needed to run all of their programs for the upcoming year.

Scarlett can’t think of anything better than bringing Christmas joy to children, but when one of her clients turns out to be the ex-girlfriend of her boyfriend, Austin Howard, the job becomes a bit awkward. The police hone in on Austin’s ex-girlfriend as their number one suspect, but Scarlett isn’t sure they’ve found the right culprit. Her feelings about the woman are complicated, and she is tempted to let the police handle this mystery. But pleas from Austin and her insatiable curiosity won’t let her sit idly by without poking around in search of some answers.

Christmas is coming, and Scarlett won’t rest until she has solved the crime and saved the charity.

A wonderful Christmas cozy mystery

Crisis at the Christmas Party is the 6th book in the enjoyable The Temp Jobs Cozy Mysteries series. And it is the best one yet! This series keeps getting better and better. Scarlett Chase does temp jobs to pay the bills while she is deciding what to do next. In this book, Scarlett is working for a children’s charity and she is really enjoying it. Her boss Elena is planning a Christmas party for the children and a gala to raise money to support the charity for the coming year. Scarlett is helping Ivy and her 3 year old son Leo. Scarlett’s boyfriend Austin shows up to see her and he reveals that he and Ivy dated in college. The Santa for the party shows up at the charity and creates further problems plus he ends up dead. Scarlett, Austin and friends need to find the killer and clear Ivy. It is a great cozy mystery with a good pace and kept me guessing. The audiobook narrated by Amber Battaglia is really well done and she brings the characters to life. Very enjoyable! #CrisisAtTheChristmasParty #TheTempJobsCozyMysteries

Scarlett saves Christmas!

In Crisis at the Christmas Party (#6 Temp Jobs Cozy Mystery) by KB Blake, Scarlett Chase is working at a children’s charity and planning a Christmas gala. She’s busy with the final decorations and gets embroiled with helping a client with a custody case. Things get so much more complicated when the client turns out to be Austin’s ex-girlfriend, and someone gets murdered! Scarlett uses her sleuthing skills, and engages her family to help find the killer and save the charity. I love how the characters continue to mature and develop to overcome their professional, physical and relationship issues. I think Scarlett’s strengths are not just interior design! The narration by Amber Battaglia is wonderful. She creates unique voices for the characters and brings them and the story to life.
