About this listen

Walker Reed's Louisiana cattle ranch is in debt after costly repairs from hurricane damage. To get the money, his family schemes to make Walker the star of a new bachelor reality series: Queer Seeks Spouse. How hard can it be to fake interest in a dozen handsome men for a few weeks in exchange for enough money to solve all of their problems?

Roan Carmichael never got his master's degree after his mother was diagnosed with cancer. With medical bills piling up, and a costly experimental treatment available, Roan signs on to be a suitor on Queer Seeks Spouse. While he hates having to leave his sick mother long enough to win the cash for her treatment, he's willing to do whatever it takes.

Can two men who are just in it for the money fake their way into real and lasting love?

Cowboy Seeks Husband, the latest book by Vespertine authors Leta Blake and Indra Vaughn, features a cowboy, a hipster, opposites attract, steamy scenes, and heart-tugging moments that will leave you wanting more.

Loved it all but the snakes

Loved this story and narration but please don't write about killing snakes. Yes, they were venomous cottonmouths and they made sure to mention that it was legal but you can have them removed or even sell them. It would have been way more sexy for Walker to catch the snakes to show his suitors how cool they are.

A must read

A story about a gay dating reality show is a brilliant idea. Leta Blake has created a story that brings out just about every emotion. Sit back, buckle up and get ready to listen to John Solo take you in a ride that will have you wanting to find a ranch, a cowboy, a horse and a desire to ride both😵

Well Done

Well that was a tough sell, but it worked for me anyway. I've never seen one of those bachelor shows, but it was fun to imagine it would really be like that... with the staged productions and the controlling producers and directors.

I loved the parents, all the family drama was a great touch.

Audio nicely performed by John Solo.

Best audiobook I’ve listened to!

This book was simply wonderful - the story was beautifully written, the characters had so much depth - but what really made it special for me was John Solo’s narration. He brought the story to life - I swear I could hear the cicadas in the background. My biggest pet peeve when listening to audiobooks is when you can’t tell who is who - not an issue here at all. Beautiful accents, tone and just amazing.

Enjoyable fake boyfriends story

I enjoyed this take on the fake boyfriends trope. A reality show where both main characters are initially in it for the money makes for a perfectly reasonable set up for the plot. Watching these two who initially go together like chalk and cheese on top of all the cynical, manipulative things that go on behind the scenes in a reality show was a lot of fun. John Solo is the perfect narrator for this. He was a perfect fit for the snark and humor but also captured the real emotions in a lovely way.

Real-Life Reality Show Love Story

Reality show shenanigans and unexpected love are on offer in Indra Vaughn and Leta Blake’s witty take on a ‘The Bachelor’-esque ‘Queer Meets Spouse’ production. I don’t watch much reality TV, but I sure did enjoy this sweet and comedic take on it.

Walker, the ranch-owning bachelor, and Roan, one of the show’s suitors are only doing the show for money. Neither one is looking for love, but it finds them anyway. The spark of attraction is immediate but their story is a slow-burn. In the meantime, the authors deliver some cute rom-com hijinks, show producers manufacturing ‘drama’ and a few tear-inducing sad moments. But it all ends in a long-awaited steamy scene and a happily-ever-after.

John Solo! The voice-acting by John Solo for this book is truly one of the best performances that I’ve had the pleasure of listening to. He gets a well-deserved 5+ stars from me.

Slow build but oh so worth it

The premise of this book was intriguing (despite the fact I hate the bachelor and bachelorette TV shows). I wasn't sure that I would enjoy this book due to that reality TV aspect, however, the romance and obvious lust and then love between Roan and Walker really drew me in. I also was a huge fan of the fact that the sex held off until the end of the book, it felt like an actual part of the story.

Loved It!!

Great story, just enough sex, loved the main characters. I would have liked to have seen more of the families, and gotten more depth with some of the minor characters, but overall a great read.

Definitely Worth the Buy!

I'll start off saying that I definitely loved this story! I'm not the type to consistently write reviews on books that I listen to, but I do leave a rating.

Although, the narration coupled with the interesting plot was definitely worth the listen. I enjoyed the fact that there were numerous characters introduced and the story even if their impact was minuscule. it was a happy ending with some realistic plot points that I thought definitely shaked up the norm of your typical romance novel.

if you're looking for a book that you can listen to again after some time away, this is something for a rainy day or a midsummer afternoon. The cowboy finds love troupe is definitely not dead, and comes alive in an interesting point of view from our author. would love to see a sequel with different contestants. Definitely a five star experience from beginning to end!

Enjoyed this one a lot. I don't watch the bachelor or similar reality shows, but liked the setting very much. I specially liked they couldn't really get together with all the cameras around

Bitchy dude, bitchy girl, prissy dudes, hopeful dudes, and a favorite cow
