Publisher's summary

We had a chance at paradise. Then I watched it all burn.

Lies. Secrets. Shadows. Blood. My world is filled with these things. I thought I knew how to navigate them.

I was wrong. And it's about to cost me everything.

My empire is crumbling, because I made the same mistakes my father did. But it's not just riches I'm losing. It's also the only chance I ever had at happiness.

My woman.... Our son.... They are the last things left that matter to me. I'll sacrifice everything to save them.

My only question is... Will that be enough?

Contains mature themes.

The best one of the series

After disliking the second book, this one was a nice surprise. The characters grew and changed, in some ways, unexpectedly, but it worked. I loved seeing them come such a long way and put aside their differences and move the entire story forward. Spicy stuff was also back… nearly vanilla, but hey, it was better than the second book.

Loved it

Ok, I must say this was a great conclusion to a great story. All the ups and downs had me. I’m still team Gabriel. Definitely worth the read/listen.

Just right

Third book tied up things well regarding the direction of the FMC and MMC. I appreciate that their relationship issues were more realistic with the withholding info because they were worried the other wouldn't handle it well mixed with bad reactions from assumptions. I appreciated it wasn't the typical, MMC being verbally abusive and fully the naive and weak FMC and then magically there's forgiveness. Their relationship had ups and downs and the rekindling was the right amount of understanding and helping one another grow to be softer (MMC) or more badass (FMC). I read this a couple years ago and just revisited the entire trilogy via audiobook. I liked the accent of the MMC, especially if he's Italian and from NY

Too Many Inconsistencies

One minute Alexis has emerald eyes, then next they're blue. She's pregnant, but she's having red wine with dinner. Little details matter. Also, I can not stand Alexis. I kept wishing Gabriel would meet someone else.

Slightly better

This was much better than the first two books. However, the mmc made such an about-face that it wasn’t believable. He wasn’t the same character. It wasn’t a gradual transition either. That being said, I really liked the Gabriel in the last part of the book. There were several inconsistencies but not hugely distracting.
