Pure Fire

Let me start out by saying that I LOVE dark mafia/cartel/bratva stories.

However, I am not a fan of immediately adding a baby into the mix. It just strikes me as being a literary crutch for the lack of a storyline that some authors have a problem developing because they just want to get to the sexy parts of the story.

With that being said, the only reason I read this book is because I absolutely LOVE the author. She is one of my favorites And I will read anything and everything that she writes. I am so glad that I decided to purchase this book.

The male protagonist in this story is unbelievably sexy. The female protagonist is a little irritating. There are times throughout the book where you just want to grab her and shake her. However, don’t let that dissuade you from reading this book because she gets better. Lol

I love the storyline. Read this book. Another home run for the author.

As a sidenote to the author… my OCD self had an issue with this man living in a big beautiful mansion with manicured lawns, but he had a gravel driveway. ROTFL.

I was irritated throughout this book. Alexis is so judgmental, deceptive and condescending. I really wanted to like Alexis but she just makes so many bad decisions. Let’s hope she gets it together.

OMG holy confusion

I love books where the main characters tick me off lol. I wish they would've took it slow and gained trust but the difficult way is more entertaining. Great story

Good story, but male narrator needs some work.

I enjoyed the story, though frustrating at times, however there were many times I was pulled from the actual story because all I could focus on was how stilted the male narrator spoke. I find it much more natural when narrators speak as if they’re conversing rather than reading from a page. Instead of the narrator saying the line like, ‘I’ll go over there’, he would say ‘I will go over there’, and it just sounded very robotic. I can’t tell if this is only something he’s done for this story or if everything he narrates is like this, but it will make me hesitate to listen to other things he narrates in the future.
