About this listen
Get fluent with Fluent Penguin language learning tools. Designed for self-taught language learners, Fluent Penguin picks up where Pimsleur and Rosetta Stone leave off. By exposing you to a wide variety of translated conversations in everyday situations, Fluent Penguin builds your vocabulary and intuitive recognition of grammar, sentence structure, and idiomatic phrases.
Modeled after the proven and effective Pimsleur method of language learning, Fluent Penguin conversational collections employ context-driven recall techniques to help you anchor new vocabulary and phrases to the situations in which you will use them. All lessons are in audio format and use subtle repetition and meaningful associations to maximize retention of new information.
Each collection consists of conversations about common topics, ranging from work scenarios to current events, leisure activities and travel. Each statement in a conversation is first narrated in English, then spoken by native voice actors in a variety of Mexican, European, Central, and Southern American Spanish accents. Time is provided after each statement for you to repeat aloud and hone your pronunciation.
Conversation lessons range from 30 to 50 minutes in length. The following conversational topics are introduced in Conversational Spanish: Intermediate Collection One:
- Holidays
- How was your day?
- I dreamed last night
- My favorite singer
- My dream job

MacLeod and her husband, George, encountered their dream while vacationing on a remote island in the Scottish Hebrides. Story
Thoreau gives an account of three canoe and hiking journeys - by himself and with others - through the mostly uninhabited forests of Maine in the 1850s. Identifying birds, trees and plants by their botanical as well as their common names, he also records the Indian names of lakes, rivers and plants. He investigates the connections between waterways and trails, and provides detail on camping, fishing and hunting in the woods, using whatever is at hand. Extolling the beauty of the wilds that he encounters, Thorough’s narrative is also imbued with elements of his philosophy.

Finally found one that works for me!
After trying so many Spanish lesson books on audible, I was very close to giving up, when I randomly purchased this one. It has restored my diminishing hope of learning this language. It doesn't contain as much content per buck compared to the others, every bit of content in it is very useful to your learning. By far the best way to teach conversational Spanish.

great ear training!
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
yes - this was a great way to pick up Spanish again. I took it in high school and forgot a lot; this helped me get back to where I can understand most of simple conversations.
What did you like best about this story?
they speak at a regular speed, and also break apart conversations word for word. it makes it much easier to understand the full conversations later.

Just what i was looking for after finishing pimsle
If you could sum up Conversational Spanish: Intermediate Collection One in three words, what would they be?
more pimsleur-like practice
What was one of the most memorable moments of Conversational Spanish: Intermediate Collection One?
It's exciting to be able to understand almost a complete conversation at normal speed after going through the step-by-step parts of the conversation. It's like a word-version of one of those magic-eye pictures where something previously unintelligible suddenly starts to make sense!
What about Eric Fallah’s performance did you like?
He's just the english narrator, but great voice
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
this is more of a book to revisit and go through again for review and additional practice
Any additional comments?
hopefully the next in the series is just as well done

Very useful
They speak slightly slower and clearer than regular Latinos who tend to speak very fast on a regular basis, so nothing to complain about. Gives a bit of vocabulary without overload. Great program for beginning intermediate, exactly what i was looking for. I'm getting the next one.

If you could sum up Conversational Spanish: Intermediate Collection One in three words, what would they be?
PracticalHelpfulFun
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
The book is divided into lessons so you can easily practice your Spanish during your commute.
Any additional comments?
I really enjoyed the dialogues. A variety of verb tenses are used during each dialogue. It's not for beginners, however if you have some knowledge this book will help it start to click for you. Conversational Spanish unlike many other audio books isn't based on travel scenarios, finding a bathroom, or ordering food, but rather conversations you might actually have or overhear someday with a colleague or new friend. I really hope they release a second one soon, so they can start on a third...

Would you consider the audio edition of Conversational Spanish: Intermediate Collection One to be better than the print version?
Absolutely necessary and I liked having the kindle version to read along with the Audio.
Any additional comments?
Has anyone found the next one in the series? I saw the Kindle version of collection 2 on Amazon but not on Audible.
