About this listen

Coaching is a way of managing, a way of treating people, a way of thinking, a way of being. Coaching has matured into an invaluable profession fit for our times and this fourth edition of the most widely read coaching book takes it to the next frontier.

Good coaching is a skill that requires a depth of understanding and plenty of practice if it is to deliver its astonishing potential. This extensively revised and expanded new audio edition of Coaching for Performance clearly explains the principles of coaching and illustrates them with examples of high performance from business and sport. It continues to follow the GROW sequence (Goals, Reality, Options, Will) and clarifies the process and practice of coaching by describing what coaching really is, what it can be used for, when and how much it can be used, and who can use it well.

Good content, terrible narration

Very monotonous and painful to listen to. Excellent content, however. I've already begun incorporating techniques into my management. Thank you

Excellent Material, Readers is Not Very Enjoyable

This is an excellent book with quality material presented. I highly reccomend this book for anyone looking to broaden their coaching techniques or reinforce some habits and tatics not recently reviewed.

However the readers voice did not resonate well with me and the way he ends sentences kinds of irritates me and decreases my focus. I will personally buy this book do avoid this setback and try to get the most from the material.

Good to get an idea about what coaching is

Interesting to have an overview on coaching. The format of the book is more suitable for reading than for listening. There were bullet points, or lists that despite the narrator's talent were difficult to follow.

An excellent book

So important for solidifying the principles of coaching. It is a great guide for checking whether you are truly coaching when interacting with your clients.

Great content, awful narration

The content is fantastic - I began applying concepts immediately. Unfortunately, this narrator has ruined several books in my collection with his boring delivery and smug enunciation.

Great resource for coaching

It sums up the basic models and questions needed for doing coaching. I like best the last part about transpersonal coaching.

It was meh

Script narratives, as used in the examples were distracting. Calling himself a social justice driven person brought politics into further distract me. Finally, the flippant comments on religion sort of ended my concentration.

Here I wanted to become a better peer coach, and I am hit with crap that has nothing to do with coaching. About 60% of the book was good. Not enough to get my recommendation.

Great coaching primer and deep dive.

This book was a great overview into the world of coaching. It’s great for folks that know their way around coaching executives and teams, but also some great intermediate topics. It selves into the origins and where coaching is going too which was great.
