About this listen

The Reaper is out for blood,
How fast can you run?
You’ve taken something that isn’t yours,
When will you learn?
There’s nowhere you can hide,
What choice do you have?
She can smell your fear,
Who can help you now?
You can’t avoid the scythe,
Why do you even try?

Family is who you make it and I’ve discovered blood means nothing, not unless I’ve slipped my blade into flesh and drawn my scythe with it. Just when things were starting to look up and all the pieces of my f--ked up life were coming together, I’m once again thrust into a war and this time I’m taking no prisoners. This is it, the final showdown, my scythe is sharpened and my boys are by my side. We might just find ourselves dead but not before I’ve drawn my scythe on every one of our enemies’ foreheads.

Unhinged, but Palatable

My Review:
4 ⭐️ 5 🌶️

Claiming the Reaper by C.A. Rene and R.E. Bond is a wild, bloody, and spicy end to the Reaped series that had me glued to every dark page. Selene and her lethal harem—Blaze, Zander, Santos, and Darius—go out with a bang, taking down some seriously twisted villains. Santos, my personal favorite psycho, stole the show with his twisted charm, even though Selene kept stealing the main character spotlight.

This book had a few “unhinged” moments (and plot holes) that stretched believability, but let’s be honest—no one’s here for realism. There’s plenty of mayhem and gore, and just enough sweetness and banter to keep it all palatable. The spice? Fiery and filthy, just like I wanted, though the father-son sharing was… unsettling.

Seeing more of the story from the guys’ perspectives added depth, especially in Santos and Darius’s relationship, which might be the best harem romance I’ve read. Sure, the pace is relentless and the chaos indulgent, but that’s exactly why this series shines. If you’re looking for a dark, action-packed, wickedly fun ride, Claiming the Reaper is it.

Love me some cereal unalivers

This was a good last chapter to the book with a lot of action and the crazy in all of them came out to play.

They work through all their emotional and relationship issues (outside the harem) and there is plenty of “play time” as well.

Would recommend this to anyone who likes their romance on the darker side.

I love how much I laughed in this series!

When you are talking about books with this topic you don’t think they would have a lot of humor in them....these two awesome authors did a phenomenal job adding so much ridiculousness/levity but keeping everything relevant if that makes sense haha. Like you could feel the intention/purpose with their decisions. I think my favorite part was our OTT guy in the harem and his “pew pews”. I snorted so badly hahahaha. I loved him, he grew on me so much in this trilogy and esp. in book 3!

We have to deal with some pretty heavy stuff in this one. We deal with the aftermath of Selene being taken. She has to go through some rough stuff before she is able to get out. In the meantime we get to see how the guys are fairing without her, and its definitely not good! I loved seeing more airtime with them and the side characters haha. Santos and his obsession with his pet haha. Love how he fell for Santos’ half sister and how Santos reacted (planning their wedding from day 1 hahaha). I love how unhinged he was, he totally stole the show in book 3 and I was soooo here for it! Again so many laughs and snorts/giggles in this one, you forget it’s a darker themed books! I loved seeing Darius and Santos be there for each other more, and the reunions with Selene with everyone (especially Blaze and Xander) was sooo yummy and heartwarming. They all were made for each other, they help even out some of their sharp edges or enhance them and make them more wicked 😈. The battle scenes were done well. I thought the emotional rollercoaster at the end was soooo mean but worth it. The epilogue was fantastic I didnt want to leave this world ❤️

Narration was done well again! Sometimes they were OTT for me but that is what was needed from the storyline haha. Again I think Santos was my favorite and the narrators helped bring him to life in my mind. The grumpiness but stoic protector vibes from Blaze were palpable (loved his steamy scenes too!!) and Xander and his up and down feelings could be heard/felt in those scenes. Before this series I hadn’t heard of these narrators before but will be good checking them out in future audiobooks because they did a great job here and I can be very picky haha.

Definitely recommend this series, I listened to it so quickly because the entertainment value was so high 🤣 Again who would have thought these baddies would make me laugh so much😍

Twisted, Sexy, and Hilarious

This whole series is perfect. Think dark romance like Haunting Adeline but add in bust your gut laughing at the insanity of some of these characters… oh and there’s four psychopaths, not just one to drool over. I’m so glad I stumbled across this series and I wish there was more to listen to. I also love me a take no prisoners female lead who knows exactly who the f*** she is. The narrators fit the story well too, though the male narrator can get a bit intense during the spicy bits. These are definitely books I’ll be circling back to for another listen.
