About this listen

From New York Times bestselling author Kristen Proby comes an all-new Small Town, Friends to Lovers, Law Enforcement romance.

Summer Quinn’s life changed five years ago when she walked in on her boyfriend and her best friend in bed together. She silently left, ghosting both of them, and never looked back. She came to Bitterroot Valley, looking for a fresh start, and that’s exactly what she got.

After purchasing the local floral shop from her eccentric aunt and finding herself again in the absolute delight she brought to the community, Summer feels welcome and safe in her new home.

But things have started to happen. At first, she could blow it off as bad luck, or kids starting trouble. But then the bad luck turns into serious, life-threatening incidents that can’t be ignored.

Bitterroot Valley is Chase Wild’s town. His family settled the area almost a hundred and fifty years ago, and as a police officer, Chase takes pride in keeping his community safe. Sure, he’s had his eye on the gorgeous florist since she moved to town, but he’s kept his relationship with her strictly professional.

Now, someone’s trying to scare Summer. She claims she doesn’t know why, but Chase is determined to get to the bottom of it and drive the danger out of his town. As time passes, and the more he gets to know Summer, the harder it is to keep his hands off of the beautiful woman. With their connection growing, he’s falling in love with her and will do anything to keep her safe.

As Chase learns the truth of who is threatening Summer, will he be able to protect her, and will their love withstand the challenges ahead?

Chasing Wild is a standalone, contemporary romance novel, and book two in the picturesque Wilds of Montana series.

Wilder Brothers series

The overall story is good. I had to suspend judgment a few times with a female character who was supposed to be strong and bad ass, yet allowing Chase to call her "Blondie" irked me to no end. I also tried to give Chase the benefit of the doubt as a cop trying to be sensitive, which as someone who has worked with cops, I think Connor Crais portrayed accurately even if I lost patience with the MML at times too.

I had to suspend judgment at the end with Evan as well. Like it was already established he was a dirt bag and not to be trusted, then the MFL lead goes off down the block with him!? I was expecting an abduction frankly. The dog Lily stole the show for me.

Connor Crais and Stella Hunter played off each other very well. Timing was spot on and Stella Hunter does male voices SO well! I love that Connor doesn't force a female voice. which actually is more effective.

There is open door sex scenese for anyone who is sensitive to that content.

TRIGGER WARNING for abuse and stalking.

Story was good

The storyline was great! The foul language almost had me just turning it off. It may not bother some people but for me, I’m like why. It doesn’t add to the story, it only makes me upset. Foul language does not make things look great. It does not make anyone sound great. To me, it only makes people look uneducated and ridiculous. It’s not needed in so many situations.

The story line, though, was great. The only thing that I have a hard time with (other than the language) is the fact that when the female narrator was reading stuff Chase was saying, it was so low, I couldn’t hear what was said.

My favorite book so far

I really did love this book. It’s nice that the author doesn’t have someone kidnapped in every book, it was definitely interesting without it. I loved it so much I’m going to start the next book now!

a little tired but good story

I kept thinking this story was apart of a couple different series from other authors before I realized it wasn't. some of the names and story lines were very familiar from other books. this had its own things going for it too. I was able to see the twist coming from the beginning but it was still a good listen. loved this couple. the narrators were the best part.

Chase and Summer’s love story

Chase and Summer’s love story was filled with sweetness and warmth. I loved this story and everything that came with it. Chase has liked Summer since she first came to town. Summer has always been attracted to Chase but wasn’t ready for a relationship back then, but she is now. When she finally gets the courage to ask him out, the ball gets rolling and doesn’t stop. But somewhere lurking in the background is someone set on hurting or scaring Summer. They try to break into her house, spray paint it and even throw a rock through her window. When her flower shop catches on fire, it’s the last straw. Chase needs to figure out who the culprit is to save Summer before it’s too late.
Their relationship begins sweetly and continues sweetly. The narrators were right on target with this one. As I always say, Connor can do no wrong and this was no exception. He was Chase. Stella Hunter was fantastic as Summer. This duo always knocks it out of the park. I would definitely recommend this book for anyone looking for a sweet read about love and respect.

The audio was crazymaking

One of the things I love best about audiobooks that I can read while I am driving on my commute. When narrators aren’t consistent in their volume and lower their voice a lot when they feel like the character is talking low, it makes me nuts because while I have a quiet car, changing the voice up and down up and down all the time means I have to keep hitting rewind and turning up the volume and then two sentences later I’m turning the volume back down. That was my biggest frustration with this particular book. It happened a lot!!
That said storyline was fine 😀

Swoony Chase Wild!

“Maybe we’re finally on the same page. Or maybe just in the same chapter. And that’s a good place to start.”

Chasing Wild was my first book by Kristen Proby and I am in love with the Wild Family and the town of Bitterroot Valley, Montana! After breaking up with her awful ex, Summer Quinn has returned home to Bitterroot Valley and purchased her beloved aunt’s florist shop. Soaking up the serenity of small-town life and building a wonderful community has opened Summer’s eyes to the lovely life the valley offers her…and to a handsome cop who has always been there for her. Chase Wild is the quintessential hot, cinnamon roll, cop and his heart is set on Summer Quinn! You know I love a good he-falls-first romance full of pining and grand gestures. Chase’s ability to read Summer’s needs, his patience, calm, and innate talents to take control in the bedroom are only a few reasons he’ll melt your heart. Summer is a relatable, enchanting FMC whose kindness, sincerity, and sultry sass are just the beginning of her charm. Their chemistry was electric and their love for one another was so sweet. I loved Summer’s shop employees and the family she found in the valley because her blood relatives (aside from her aunt) were just awful. This cozy, suspenseful, found family love story will tug at your heartstrings and charm your pants off.

Stella Hunter and Connor Crais are always amazing and Summer & Chase suited them perfectly! I loved the way Stella played with character voices and her voice for Chase was swoon-worthy. With lots of Wild brothers, cousins, and hot wedding guests, Connor’s character voices were authentic and distinct. I didn’t start at book one, but I never felt out of sorts with the plotline or characters. I loved this audiobook from start to finish and can’t wait for more!
