Shadows

Serendipity

A malevolent evil hell-bent on making my sisters and me pay for rebuffing him is still stalking my family, and some ancient writings portended that the six were the only ones who could defeat him. Jackson Pruitt and I round out that magical number, which means I have to face the evil and the things Jack makes me feel, to save my family and my city. I never sought to reconnect with Jack. Working with him now means opening myself up to my feelings for him. Refusing means destruction for us all.

Definitely worth the credit

I’m so glad I grabbed this box set just in time for Halloween. This spooky series is set in New Orleans and is filled with witchcraft, ghosts and evil spirits. This may be the first time that I started to dread hearing Jason Clarke’s voice, lol. He does a phenomenal job narrating a serial killer throughout the series and it will make your skin crawl.

DISAPPOINTING

I don’t know why but I just didn’t feel this.. it’s ok but lacking too - with dark chilling scenes. However, I just didn’t find it very romantic, deep or sexy as heroine sees the dead tortured female victims of a murderer and (through the three books) she, and her sisters, family and fellow witches, all try to banish the monsterous serial killer to Hell. There’s no burn, no heat, no growth and it’s all very insta. Each book is about a different sister but I wouldn’t of carried on with the series if I’d just bought the first one. Narration was great.. but Jason Clarke is the voice of the twisted, dangerous evil villain.. so no swoons either.

Worth a credit? Sadly it’s a “meh” this time.. but you may love it.
