About this listen

A talented runner fully committed to Olympic dreams, Sabrina Rice's future was shattered by a devastating diagnosis. One forfeited scholarship and several years later, she has new goals and dreams that have nothing to do with running - something that's become far too painful to think on. Until the day she sees Brandy Philip running across the community college campus, easily outpacing security. Sabrina immediately recognizes world-class speed, and it's all the more painful that it belongs to a teenage graffiti artist. When a chance encounter brings the two young women together, Sabrina becomes Brandy's best hope for staying out of juvenile hall. Soon, Sabrina begins to feel an uncomfortable nudge that her new life is just about to be toppled...that God may be calling her to minister to this talented but troubled girl.

Chasing Hope had me hoping!

This is the first book I listened to from Kathryn Cushman and I was engaged from the very beginning. I loved the characters and the narrator. Even though this is a story of loss and disappointment in failed dreams, you are inspired by the determination of the characters and the hope of second chances. I found myself, wanting to start running, wishing I had been a athlete and wanting to watch the movie Chariots of Fire. I love the quote in the book and believe it to be true, "All things work together for good."

Sweet, sweet story, good narration.

Which scene was your favorite?

Very good ending, that was my favorite.

Any additional comments?

Very sweet story, a little slow at times, but was very clean and ended very well. I would recommend to others. Narration was great and not distracting at all.

A True Masterpiece. 5 Stars From Beginning to End!

KC's greatest work yet! Very realistic & captivating.. 1 of the best of the 400+ audios I've heard. A junior high with a snarkie, bad-girl attitude who hates life collides with a high school do-gooder, always positive..Until she watches the 'lil twit fly by (with enough talent for an olimpic goal) running from camp police. When they collide, will either of them take the chance they're given to achieve the dream of a lifetime? Only 1 catch: it requires both of them working together.

Superb!

Not only is this a fantastic, realistic story, but the narration is outstanding as well. There are no "fillers" in this book that just take up space. It's to the point, fascinating, and incredibly moving. I found myself rooting for the two main characters. I was not disappointed.
