I absolutely adore this series.. of course,.. it has to be narrated with Bill Nighy and Co.... I laugh the entire time.

This is when Juliette first meets Miles

I love this BBC Radio drama series. This one was released in 2015, but is an earlier mystery. Juliette first meets Miles here. Of the 9 BBC Charles Paris mysteries starring Bill Nighy on audible this is my least favorite. That being said it is still Bill Nighy as Charles Paris so I must give it many stars.

Bill Nighy Is Perfection

What made the experience of listening to Charles Paris: Murder Unprompted the most enjoyable?

For understated performance, you have a hard time finding better than Bill Nighy. He gives a life to Charles Paris that Simon Brett should be proud of.

What other book might you compare Charles Paris: Murder Unprompted to and why?

Any Charles Paris BBC performances are Best Buys.

Which scene was your favorite?

When Charles is resisting the advances of his ex-wife.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

It is not the destination, but the journey to be enjoyed.

Any additional comments?

This series is great comedy, with clever writing and humorous insights into British acting circles.

I'm hooked on Bill Nighy in this series

Great characters and a fast pace. You get 4 episodes per audiobook.

Having checked the order of the full books online, this should be book 3, but it features the daughter meeting Miles (and in the adapted book 1, murder unprompted) she's back at home with having left Miles. Tiny thing, but just a smidge confusing.

Everything else is delightful - particularly Bill Nighy, who is perfectly cast

Not Very Mysterious

Listened in the car because the length was convenient for the trip. I had difficulty hearing the female performers over the road noise and determining which character was speaking.

The pacing was peculiar to me. I expected the murder in the first episode but it wasn't until the second.

The solution was pretty obvious though one can, if charitable, attribute that to the thorough setup.

Note that I did not find the protagonist entertaining which affected my enjoyment of the entire story.

Smug liberal boomer p0rn

Even Bill Nighy's talents can't save this drivel. Men over the age of 60 who think their Guardian/NYT subscription makes them good people will find this enjoyable.
