Emerson “Em” Jordan always wanted a Valentine’s Day wedding. But after being dumped by her boyfriend, she spends the holiday at Seashell Cottage on the Gulf Coast of Florida with Devin Gerard, a family friend who has no interest in her or any other woman and is instead concentrating on his pediatric medical practice and continuing medical missions in Costa Rica.

Em, who’s always wanted a large family, doesn’t mind his disinterest. At 32, she’s decided she doesn’t need a husband to have a child or to adopt one. First, she’s going to fulfill her dream of setting up her own landscape design business in upstate New York and has promised to continue to help run her grandmother’s flower shop.

It isn’t until Em and Devin become friends that Em realizes she might want more than friendship from him. But with his work in Miami and Costa Rica and her busy life in New York, it’s out of the question until something happens that changes everything, even a couple of hearts.

Another sweet story

Judith sets yet another sweet sweet sunset with the series. I have just discovered her books and can proudly state I am now a huge fan of her works. Her books are sweet romantic funny and the perfect escape from cold temps and longs days.

loved it

this is a wonderfull story. it gives us all the feels and for a few hours we can let go and forget the nastyness that exists all around us. and the narrator did a great job.

Not my usual genre but I loved it

I usually read nothing but mystery/suspense/thrillers but the author gave me a copy of this book. I put off listening to it for awhile since I am not always a big fan of sweet little romances, but I finally got to it and I am glad I did. The story is your typical love lost, return home, find new love romance but to my surprise I really liked it! The characters are great and made me care about them. Em is a strong woman who, after being dumped goes on a vacation to the beach and comes up with a plan for the rest of her life. She returns home anxious to get started. Gran is the perfect mentor. And Devin, well what's not to love?! This is a happy story, the type we all need once in a while to bring us out of the doldrums. The narrator did a wonderful job. Thanks to the author for allowing me to listen to this audiobook.

Friends to Lovers Romance

Em and Devin have both been hurt by those they loved. Em dated the wrong guys and was recently dumped. Devin’s ex-girlfriend tried to get him to change, wanting him to focus on making money as a pediatrician rather than helping others. They end up staying at the Seashell Cottage together after her friend dates her ex and backs out of the vacation. Their relationship starts out as friendship with attraction between them. Will it ever turn into anything more? This was not a clean romance, but still a sweet one. Orphan Ava was precocious and adorable. The narrator had a nice, at times funny, tone with inflections in the right places.

This is a story of a lady that knows what she wanted and even though her family wanted something else for her, she stood her ground and eventually things work out

Unique, Heartwarming Story

I was given a free audible code for this book from the author. Overall, I really liked the story. It started out slower than I'm used to (I like to see the interaction with the love interest early on to get me hooked on their story.) I realized later that the slower start helped set up the story and true character of the main character. The only other concern I had was that it was not as sweet and clean as I would have preferred. There was a lot of sexual innuendo, which I thought was unnecessary. I just hate to read books and watch movies where you think, it was good except for the sexual innuendos, etc.

I absolutely loved this book and I couldn't get enough of it. the story was so beautiful.
