The Narrator Saves the Day!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would recommend this book to a friend because the narration is great. The relationship among the characters are complicated and without Ms. Klett superb reading with the different voices I don't know if I could tell them apart. However, it is a fun story that is different. I like Irish stories. I have listened to the book twice and it was better the second time around.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Certain Sure?

My most memorable part of the book was at the end when Finn and Katie put aside their differences and came together.

Have you listened to any of Elizabeth Klett’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes. She is one of my favorite narrator. She makes an average book worth listening to.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No. It was not that good. There were many complicated relationships between the characters that made my head hurt and they were not very realistic.

Any additional comments?

If it wasn't for Ms. Klett's great narration I might have given up on the book. It starts out slow and it was hard keeping track of who is who. I liked the two main characters Katie and Finn but everyone else seemed to be mean and selfish. Some parts are rather unbelievable such as Katie's Aunt Aileen and Finn dad finding love and everyone just rolled over for them. The author also had a way of abruptly introducing new information to further confuse the matter. The author also has an extreme love of clichés which at time is very irritating. The dad was plain mean and calls Katie girl. It is very hard to like a lot of the characters.

Lovely romance but predictable

Is there anything you would change about this book?

Overall a good story but I would have liked a little more build up to the ending.

Would you recommend Certain Sure to your friends? Why or why not?

I recommend this book if you’re looking for something lighthearted. The narration is outstanding which makes it a joy to listen to.

Any additional comments?

I enjoyed listening to this book but it was easy to see where it would land. The writer did add in some twists to keep it interesting, so overall a good story. Very strong kudos to the narrator, Elizabeth Klett, as she did an outstanding job of bringing the characters to life with appropriate accents and voice distinctions so it's easy to follow.
