Acerca de esta escucha
Ruby Stone has never been one to do what’s expected of her.
As the middle daughter of the influential Stone family—one of Las Vegas’s most infamous casino conglomerates—Ruby was supposed to go to the finest schools, marry the son of another Las Vegas bigwig, and pop out a few kids while hosting fundraisers for worthwhile charities.
She did none of that and instead opted to work in the casino while thumbing her nose at her father. Fun as she found torturing her father, she was also lonely.
In addition to being head of security for the Stone Casino, Rex Carter is best friends with Ruby’s brother Zach. They have one hard and fast rule—no dating sisters—which Zach broke when he married and fell in love with Rex’s sister. Rex has no intention of doing the same until the alcohol starts flowing at an engagement party and dancing leads to…well…a really hot night.
Rex and Ruby have known each other for a really long time. They’ve always gotten along. That doesn’t mean that they’re ready to have a baby together. However, that’s exactly what’s about to happen.
Ruby doesn’t need help. She’s prepared to do this on her own. Rex is torn. He’s not ready for fatherhood and yet…maybe, just maybe…he is. On top of that, he might be ready for something else too, like a full-time relationship with a woman he respects and loves. He just needs to get Ruby on the same page with him.
Ruby might be at a crossroads, but she’s still the same woman who never follows the rules. She’s going to forge her own path.
Except…is it possible her path coincides with Rex’s path? No. Definitely not. That’s not possible. Is it?
