في قديم الزمان عاش رجلٌ ثري اسمه عنتر الدرويش وكان يعمل بالتجارة ويحب السفر والترحال..يرحل من بلدٍ إلى بلد ومن مكانٍ إلى مكان، يلتقي بالعديد من الناس ويعرف السير والأخبار ويطلع على كثيرٍ من الأسرار..
وذات مساء وبينما هو سائرٌ في الطريق في أحد البلاد يحمل معه صندوقًا خشبيًا صغيرًا، توقف أمام أحد البيوت بعد أن ظهر عليه التعب والإعياء وسقط الصندوق من بين يديه وكاد هو يسقط على الأرض، فهبَّ أهل البيت لنجدته وداهمه المرض وأقعده وظلَّ ضيف تلك الأسرة حتى شفي..
كان للأسرة طفلٌ اسمه سعيد وكعرفانٍ من التاجر عنتر بالمعروف قرر أن يصحب الفتى معه في رحلته وأخبر أهله أنَّ ابنهم سوف يعود محملًا بأثمن الجواهر وأندر الحلي أمّا هو فقد كانت غايته قطعةٌ أثريةٌ من الحديد على شكل شمعدان !!
فما هو سرُّ هذا الشمعدان الذي يسافر التاجر من أجله؟ وهل سيكون سعيد نعمَ الفتى أم سيغدر بالتاجر؟
