great story, terrible narrator

I love the Black Mage series! the story is great the characters are great but this time the narrator on the audiobook was terrible! I'm not sure why they changed narrators but this one was so blah and Bland with no emotion it was almost like hearing someone read out of a textbook. Sometimes I would have to rewind and listen to something again because it was so monotone I couldn't tell when the different characters were speaking until she said their names. I'm definitely going to check the narrator before I buy the next audio book in the series. if it is the same one I'll just have to get the book and read it myself when I have a chance because I don't want to miss out on the story just because of the bad narrator.

New person reading than former book in series.

The person reading this book is difficult to listen to. I was quite used to the voice I had heard for the main character Ria in previous books in the series. I have already purchased the rest of the series and hope they either go back to the original narrator or change up again. The series is not great, but better than mediocre. This narrator lessens my opinion of the series overall and definitely lowers it to mediocre at best.

The Performance was marginally acceptable!!

We enjoyed the story as we have listened to previous books. The Performance was barely more than read, with breath stops very poorly done and areas read without intonation. We lost track of which character she was speaking!

We will avoid this performer henceforth!

God this narrator was terrible

Amazing story, terrible narrator. I couldn't even tell if someone was talking or if it was the main characters inner dialogue, her voice was just so monotone. I would have loved if Melissa Moran narrated this one too. Amazing story, Rachel E Carter really knows how to rip my heart to pieces!!

I want the old narrator back

the book is a great contribution of the story but the previous narrator was much better.

Should have kept Melissa Moran as narrator. Patrice was very dry, robotic.

loved it.

this was the 3rd book and I loved the first one but I didn't get a chance to read the 2nd book do to me being a mom and no time to read anymore just listen. so first off I would like the 2nd in audio please asap. now that's said the third was great I didn't feel to lost and the story unfolds beautifully. I really like the narrator she did a awesome job but I felt she had a little lisp sometimes. definitely worth a credit.

Did Not like the performance

I had a very difficult time figuring out which character was saying what. The narrator’s voice was annoying and not easy to listen to.

Blah performance .Get a new reader, she is too monotone . Enjoyed the storyline though

new narrator and I'm seriously disappointed

The story was wonderful but the narrator was awful. she changed the pronunciation of multiple names and you could hear the weird stretch of words when she turned pages. she also provided little voice acting to make the speakers distinct.
